Description

Please read this before you bid: I will ONLY accept payment through Paypal for this item. I will NOT accept checks of any sort or wire transfers. Please be prepared to complete the transaction within one week of the close of auction. Winning bidder will pay for registered shipping and insurance. Ebay only lets me enter an amount of $4 for shipping, maximum. Domestic bidders, be advised, the total shipping costs, depending on the final sale amount, will be around $20. International bidders, I WILL NOT declare the total on the customs form to be any less than the final sale price so that the item can be properly insured via USPS. I ship LPs in sturdy cardboard LP mailers. If you prefer another shipping method, please ask before you bid so that we can work out details. I am happy to do returns, provided the item is returned to me in the same condition as when it left my hands, e.g. if I shipped it sealed and it returns unsealed that is NOT the same condition. Buyer will pay return shipping costs. Otherwise, if you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them to the best of my ability, but please ask them before the auction ends, not after.

What you are bidding on:

This is the extremely rare East Of Underground/Soap double LP issued by the U.S. Army Special Services Agency, Europe documenting the winners of the First Annual Showband Contest in 1971. It is catalog number CEC-LP11. This is NOT the Wax Poetics reissue. This is the real deal. It is a double album with East Of Underground on one LP and Soap on the other. The track listing is as follows:

East Of Underground
C side:
Higher
Smiling Faces
Hell Below
People Get Ready
Getting Over
D side:
Bet'ya Never Lose My Love - California Dreamer
Popcorn - Santana
I Love You
Java Girl
Walk On By

Soap
A side:
I Just Want To Celebrate
You've Got A Friend
Southern Man
Medley: Will The Circle Be Unbroken - I Don't Know How To Love Him
Ticket To Ride
B side:
I Feel The Earth Move
Uncle Albert
Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves
Never My Love
Walk Away
Get Together

The condition of the vinyl is mint, as this has never been opened, never played. It is still in the original shrink wrap. There are one or two issues with the jacket, those being small seam splits along the top and bottom of the jacket, the most minimal of ring wear, corners that are less than sharp and a tiny bit of shelf wear along the bottom and top edges near the spine. There are no cuts, no holes punched and the spine is tight. I am starting the bidding at the same low point I start all my LPs but it is not a reflection on the condition of the item. This is a beautiful record and a once in a lifetime find. Good luck!

Update: Per request, I have added a couple of photos that I hope verifies both the authenticity of the item as well as the fact that it has never been opened. One shows the spine in excellent condition with the original catalog number visible. The other shows the original logo on the cover with the catalog number above it (which is not present on the Wax Poetics reissue) as well as the fact that the seal on the shrinkwrap has not been broken. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
