Description
Up for bid: 2 extremely rare, U.S. Army private label, super rare, original funk vinyl albums, details for both follow below.
Original U.S. Army private label, "East of Underground" double vinyl LP. CEC-LP11, 1971. I had the album and cover looked over at one of the top stores here where I live and the owner graded this as follows: cover VG-VG+ and the vinyl as NM. I am not a professional grader, but have been buying and selling records for a long time and will as accurately as possible describe any flaws of imperfections. Here is my list: The upper right and lower left covers have dings, with the upper left being the bigger of the two, on the rear of that ding is a roughly pinkie fingertip sized impression, relatively minor, but noticeable. The front cover and rear cover show light ringwear, way below average for a record of forty plus years. The spine has no rips or tears and only a few small creases near the corners where the aforementioned corner dings are. There are a couple of very, very minor rips along the upper and lower cover edges, one on the rear and one on the front, you only notice them upon close inspection. When the gatefold is open you similarly notice two other minor dings at the top and bottom of the gatefold center. As for the vinyl, all four sides of this double album are very clean and show very light play. Labels are in excellent shape. There are negligible scuff marks and surface level scratching, but I really am nitpicking here for the sake of accuracy. With a good cleaning they will look top notch.
Original U.S. Army private label, "The Black Seeds" single vinyl LP. CEC-LP15, 1972. This record was looked over by the same store owner as above, and was also graded cover VG-VG+, and vinyl NM. Likewise I will also give you my findings. The front and rear cover has light discoloration along the edges of the covers, ringwear is very minimal on the front, and slightly more visible on the rear. Corner dings are even less on this record than the other, with the upper left hand corner being the most notable, although it is very minimal. The spine has only the tiniest bit of deterioration, with no actual tears or rips. The coloring and condition on the gatefold is NM with little to no noticeable defects. As for the vinyl, the labels are in excellent shape. The two sides of the record are in amazing shape with only one small scuffing area along a single track on either side, even cleaner than the the double LP, which itself is great.
With the above highly detailed descriptions as well as the various photos and my 100% EBAY rating over many years of primarily selling vinyl you should bid with extreme confidence.
