VERY EARLY 1ST STEREO PRESSING
PROMO COPY WITH THE A1 MATRIX STAMPER

THE BEATLES ~ MEET THE BEATLES

RARE 1ST PRINT LABELS WITHOUT
THE BMI / ASCAP PUBLISHING CREDITS

? ? ?

Very 1st version promotional copy of Capitol Records' Meet the Beatles album with a "FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY Not For Sale" sticker. I'm sure you know about the fact that the very early copies of Meet the Beatles don't have the BMI / ASCAP publishing credits on the labels. The majority of these copies with the 1st print labels are Mono copies and only a small portion are Stereo. If the information found online can be trusted then their number constituted 15% with only a few hundred examples surviving to this day. But I couldn't find online how many of these were promotional copies. Therefore, I'm sure it's a great rarity. The cardboard cover has a very rare promo sticker which Capitol Records didn't use after1964 reading: "FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY Not For Sale". The cover also doesn't have the producer credit on the back, "Produced by George Martin", which appeared on the cover of later pressing. This copy was pressed at Capitol Records pressing plant in Scranton, PA and has the "RIAA 3" number on the back cover. The photos fully reflect the cover's condition. It doesn't have any splits, ring wear or tears looking as though it was just manufactured, only having a light bumping to the bottom right corner along with some light discoloration at the mouth area on the back. I think the grading of Near Mint Minus fully corresponds to its condition. The original Capitol Records "royal blue" inner sleeve is in great Near Mint condition and doesn't have any splits. Shiny 1st print very early rich black multi-colored Capitol labels are in Excellent condition having just a couple of super light spindle marks. To sum things up this is an outstanding copy with the vinyl's condition corresponding to the high standard of this copy. The condition of Near Mint Minus is fully deserved because with all of my scrupulousness I could find only a couple of barely noticeable super light hairlines and scuffs from the original inner sleeve. The vinyl sounds amazing without any skips, pops or ticks and even rarely having the background noise which is most likely just the static and will go away completely if the vinyl is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. This copy comes from my Beatles collection which I've been taking care of as much as I could and barely played. You'll also find the Beatles memorabilia along with other rare LPs currently listed at my auction. Make sure to read my policy concerning the international bidders below.
