Description

The very sought after UK 1st press of the 1963 mono, Black and Gold copy of the Beatles LP Please Please Me (PMC 1202).
This has also been signed by the fifth Beatle, Sir George Martin on the front cover, and photo proof of this signing is also included with the album.
Earliest possible matrix numbers and earliest stamper code:
Side one has the matrix number XEX 421-1N
Stamper code: G (possibly O) Will confirm ASAP - need to buy a magnifying glass.
Side two has the matrix number XEX 422-1N
Stamper code: R
Tax code is absent on the label.
These codes confirm the album as one of the very first pressings from the factory in March 1963.
It is on the stunning black and gold Parlophone labels The Dick James Mus. Co. credits are incorrectly used on several of the songs
Very clean VG+ condition showing a few light scratches. The record plays and sounds like a dream. A well presented example
Sir George Martin kindly signed this album for me at a charity event close to his home near Faringdon, Oxon.
The signature/words read: Best Wishes to Darren, George Martin.
Please do contact me if you have any questions, and thank you for looking.
