Description
Mega Rare Original 1967 Decca Records UK TRUE Mono 1st Pressing (Blue Unboxed 'ffss' Decca Labels!) 'Their Satanic Majesties Request' by The Rolling Stones!!! Absolutely BREATHTAKING Near Mint Condition Throughout!!! - Unblemished 1st Press IP//PI Thick & Chunky Vinyl!!! Complete with 1st Press 'Darker Blue' 3D Hologram Laminated Robert Stace Sleeve and Original 'Red Smoke' Inner Sleeve!!! Very, Very Rare as a True UK Mono 1st Pressing and Almost impossible to Find in This Kind of Condition!!!
Here is another gem from my own mostly Nr Mint personal collection (which I am selling off gradually to lessen the pain...) I have been collecting very rare vinyl for a long time now. As a collector, I have been very critical about the condition of the records I have chosen to buy over the years, and only selected the most pristine 1st pressings from all over the UK. My collection is therefore filled with not only the rarest UK 1st pressings, but also records of the highest grade quality condition, some of the best you will probably ever come across. Sadly, all will be finding new homes in the near future. As I said, I am very strict with my grading, so when I describe a record as Nr Mint - you can rest assured that it will be a true Nr Mint record (I never grade any records as Mint because Mint does not exist in the world of vintage vinyl - in my opinion, as soon as the record has been taken home from the store it is no longer Mint!!) I hope you enjoy my listings.
You are bidding on a STUNNING UK Decca 1967 1st Mono Pressing of 'Their Satanic Majesties Request', by The Rolling Stones!!! It is by far the best copy I have ever seen of this rare UK 1st pressing. I have come across quite a few UK 1st press examples of this record in my time and I can say with absolute confidence that this is the most pristine example you will ever see. From its totally unblemished (not even a paper-line) pristine Mint- playing surfaces to its Near Mint 1st issue dark blue holographic sleeve & correct 1st issue red smoke inner. This record is pure museum quality from start to finish. As it is such a very special record in this kind of condition the bidding will be high, but trust me when I say this is one record well worth pushing the boat out for, you will never see another copy in this condition. A very serious record indeed and essential for any Near Mint Rolling Stones/ Psych UK 1st press collection...
Aside from the flawless condition, there are a number of features that make this particular record very, very rare. Firstly it is the EARLIEST 1967 UK Unboxed Decca Mono 1st Pressing on the Blue/Silver unboxed and grooved 'Full Frequency Stereophonic Sound - ffss' Decca Mono labels. Matrix numbers are Side 1 - ARL-8126-IP. Side 2 - ARL-8126-PI, with the mega rare earliest 1st mother stampers: 20 00 & 2D RC!!!
Secondly it is complete with the very rare Earliest 1st Issue 'Mono' Robert Stace laminated holographic sleeve. The colouring is a much darker blue on this 1st press sleeve than on the later sleeves (which were more turquoise in colour). It also has the important 'Mono TXL 103' box printed on the bottom of the spine. It is also important to note that this record is fully complete with its TRUE UK 1st press 'red smoke' inner sleeve, again, in absolutely breathtaking condition with NO seam wear or scribbles etc!!! As mentioned above, this record and sleeve are in STUNNING condition throughout!!! You will not find a better example of this rare record!!! Like all 1st press Stones LP's, when this album turns up today it almost always has been trashed; in terrible condition with lots of marks & scratches etc. This one IS NOT!!! Aside from being the true UK 1st pressing, what makes this one SO rare is its STUNNING condition!!! This thick & chunky vinyl has the most beautiful shop-fresh, deep glass-like shine I have ever seen, it really looks as if this record could have been pressed yesterday - it is that good!!! There are no visible marks to the playing surfaces- at all! You will not find a better 1st press example of this Psych Classic!!! A truly breathtaking 1st press example of this rare album, it is the best I have ever seen - don't miss it!!!

This vinyl is in stunning immaculate condition!!! The Classic 1st press Blue/Silver unboxed Decca centre labels are in pristine Near Mint condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Grubbyness, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! I can see NO spindle lines at all on side 1 and just a solitary line on Side 2. This record has only ever seen a turntable once before and it is highly likely that side 2 remains un-played except for the purposes of play grading (see below) which was done on very lightly on a high grade Mitchell turntable so, to all intents and purposes, it is as good as un-played!!! The gramophone rims containing the all-important 1st press Matrix are also obviously Mint!!!
As described above - the vinyl itself is in Stunning Nr Mint condition!!! NO Hairlines, NO Scratches, No Scuffing, NO Groovewear, NO warping, in fact - NO blemishes of any kind - Not even paperlines!!! I may as well grade this vinyl as Mint!!! Nr Mint does not do it justice. I am very pleased to state that it plays as good as it looks with NO Crackle, NO Pops, NO Jumps, NO Skips and NO hissing!!! I have to keep reminding myself that I am describing a 40 year old record here, not one made last week!!! I can say nothing else about this chunky 1st press record - it's absolutely perfect and Near Mint!!! These Mono IP//PI 1st pressings were straight from the masters and nothing even gets close to them today. They play with a very loud punchy but also deep clear warm chiming clarity and have to be heard to be believed! This is the best pressing you will hear and is far, far superior to the more common Stereo 1st pressings and much more common late 1970's and early 1980's repressings. This record plays Near Mint - the best you will ever hear!!! It is perfectly quiet between tracks with NO hissing, virtually NO crackling and obviously NO jumps and NO pops etc!!! It is the best example I have ever heard!!! Absolutely beautiful!!! The thick quality pressed chunky 1960's vinyl looks and feels great (it is very heavy!).
The classic 1st press thickly laminated Robert Stace holographic gatefold sleeve is also in amazing pristine condition!!! These 1st press sleeves always turn up totally worn out-looking nowadays with severe damage, especially to the unprotected edges and un-laminated inner gatefold. Suffice to say, they have not remained in prime condition over the years. THIS SLEEVE IS DIFFERENT!! It is in superb condition with perfectly preserved laminate, NO Tears, NO Stains, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind - It is completely blemish free!!! The laminate retains all its beautiful glossy sheen and NO cracking and NO Lifting anywhere!!! The spine is simply MINT with perfectly legible spine text and a beautiful unbroken laminate sheen!!! The spine has NONE of the common laminate cracking!!!
What's more this amazing sleeve lies perfectly flat! It has none of the 'bowing' commonly associated with the sleeve due to the plastic Hologram tightening and bending the sleeve. The hologram is nice and tight to the sleeve and is not coming unpeeled etc. It is Mint-. Again the thick laminate is crystal clear and absolutely flawless, in fact is it so pristine it almost is looks 'wet' in appearance! I have never seen laminate like this on this sleeve before. The corners are super-sharp and there are NO laminate creases coming out from the spine and NONE of the common 'oxbow' type laminate creases. The only creasing visible is one or two very light laminate creases on the bottom right corner; only visible when holding the sleeve angled toward strong light
The sleeve opens up to reveal a beautiful un-laminated inner gatefold which is in breathtaking condition! It, like the rest of the sleeve, is totally un-blemished and has no nasty stains or scribbles etc. There are not even the usual signs of handling, such as fingerprints etc. It looks completely untouched by human hands! There is just the lightest ripple on the left side of the gatefold and that is it! As mentioned above, I can say with a certain degree of confidence that this is this is best example of this sleeve you are ever likely to see. It grades as a straight Near Mint throughout!!! (other sellers would grade Mint, but I never use this grading for vintage vinyl [see my first paragraph])
Of course, this record comes complete with its rare ORIGINAL 1st issue 'red flame' Inner sleeve, which is also in STUNNING Mint- condition!!! Like all my rare inner sleeves. this has, to all intents & purposes, been treated like an insert. The record has always been housed in a separate replacement poly-lined inner sleeve since it has been in my possession. Thus, as you would expect, this rare inner is perfect, with NO discolouration and NO writing/scribbles!!! Importantly, it has NONE of the seam wear and splitting as is common with these original fragile inner sleeves. It is very, very rare to find these original 1st issue patterned inner sleeves anymore (let alone in this condition) and to further protect this one during shipping, it will safely be tucked away, empty, inside the gatefold sleeve. This will protect from 'knifing' to the seams from the record during transit (see my packing information below for more details). The actual disc will come to you housed in the replacement poly lined inner sleeve it has always been kept in and will be housed outside the jacket. Record and sleeve will then be placed in a tough clear poly sleeve before being professionally packaged for shipping.
Please check out hazey_jane_records' feedback and bid with confidence as this is a no reserve auction with a very low starting price! UK 1st press copies of this record in such stunning condition are in very high demand today. If you have never heard it, you will not find another copy that looks or plays more pristinely than this- it will blow you away!!! If you are a collector/investor, the price of this record will just rise and rise. An absolutely essential (and very rare) record to own.
I have tried to show you the record from all angles using oversize images. If you are not sure of anything just email me - I will be happy to help. Don't underestimate the rarity of this LP - finding a true 1967 IP//PI UK Mono 1st pressing of this classic LP in this kind of condition is almost impossible today!!! Don't let it get away because once it's gone it's gone!!! Good Luck!!!

Postage ... Hazey Jane has absolutely NO hidden surcharges; the price you win is the price you pay, just add the relevant postage, it's as simple as that! We always combine postage so if you win more than 1 auction you save money on postage costs! We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.
A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will not get a refund. Can we be any clearer? I think not.

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards. If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...
Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.
We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
