I will describe the condition of this album for you :  I use the Goldmine standard and try to be conservative.  Here are the Definitions

GOLDMINE GRADING

MINT ---- It should appear to be perfect. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writing, tears or splits. Mint means perfect.

NEAR MINT ---- Otherwise mint but has one or two tiny inconsequential flaws that do not affect play. Covers should be close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident: slight ring-wear, minor denting to a corner, or writing on the cover should all be noted properly.

VERY GOOD PLUS ---- The record has been handled and played infrequently or very carefully. Not too far from perfect. On a disc, there may be light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a sleeve or the vinyl or some of the original luster may be lost. A slight scratch that did not affect play would be acceptably VG+ for most collectors.

VERY GOOD ---- Record displays visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches, groove wear and spindle trails. Some audible surface noise, but should not overwhelm the musical experience. Usually a cover is VG when one or two of these problems are evident: ring wear, seam splits, bent corners, loss of gloss, stains, etc.

GOOD ---- Well played with little luster and significant surface noise. Despite defects, record should still play all the way through without skipping. Several cover flaws will be apparent, but should not obliterate the artwork.

POOR ---- Any record or cover that does not qualify for the above "Good" grading should be seen as Poor. Several cover flaws.

THE GRADE:

RECORD

The Record is VG +.  I have played this record on a Technics 1200 MKII turntable with a GRADO cartridge.  It plays NM.  It has a couple of noticeable paper scuff that do not affect play.  It also has some noticeable light surface scratches that are not deep but are present.  I have played this album as stated.  NO POPS, NO CRACKS.  The record does not skip.  The Vinyl still has it's original lustre.  Very Shiny.  The Labels are NM.  No Fading.  This is a very rare record.  It has no credits (BMI or ASCAP credits) on the label.  THE FOLLOWING COMES FROM FRANK MERGER'S WEB SITE.  IT IS BASED ON PERRY COX'S BOOK  WHO IS A BEATLES EXPERT. 

"NOTE about label differences: The first pressings (rare) did not show the publishers' credits on the label. Apparently, pressing had not yet begun in Los Angeles; only Scranton-pressed copies are known with the "no credits" label.
Second pressings were authorized on January 8th, 1964, and were issued contemporary with the first issue. These show all of the credits as ASCAP, except for "I Want to Hold Your Hand." Both Scranton and LA copies are known with this label style, although (as always) western copies are less common.
Third pressings were authorized on February 13th, 1964, and were issued beginning in February. These show the first two songs on side one and the fifth song on side two as BMI; the others are ASCAP. This is due to a change in the perceived publisher. The publisher for "I Saw Her Standing There" and "I Wanna Be Your Man" had been listed on internal Capitol documents as George Pincus & Sons; the corrected information shows Gil Music, BMI, as the publisher.
Pressings after mid-1966 show almost all the credits as BMI, since yet another change in publishing credits was authorized on March 14, 1966.

NOTE: Covers made after February 25, 1964, read "Produced by George Martin" in the lower left hand corner of the back cover. This credit had been inadvertently omitted."

As you can read, this is a "FIRST PRESSING".  This is a very rare album in a hard to find condition with a cover in a condition not normally seen.

It comes with the original BLUE CAPITOL sleeve in MINT condition.  NO RIPS. TEARS or STAINS.

COVER:

The Cover is VG++.  (WOULD BE NEAR MINT EXCEPT FOR SOME DARKING OF THE WHITE AREAS DUE TO EXPOSER TO LIGHT AND VERY SLIGHT RING WEAR).   This is the cover that has the RIAA #3 and NO "GEORGE MARTIN PRODUCER" credits. The END Spine shows some age but is not split.  All lettering on the SPINE can be read.  The other spines are perfect.  The ring wear is so slight on the back that you must really be observant to notice it.  The front lower area has some ring wear that is noticable but slight.   On the front right side next to the opening is an area that  has some wear compared to the rest.  It is barely noticeable.  That is it for defects as far as I can see.

My reputation is important to me.  I grade conservatively and state all imperfections I can find.  Please look at all my feedback, you can trust my grading unlike others.

This is my second album of "MEET THE BEATLES" I have put up for auction on E-BAY.  The first just sold last week for $432.00.  Hurry and get your bids in fast and nail this one down for yourself.
