UNIQUE!!
This is a Very Rare acetate disc of The Springfields performing on 'The Mid-day Music Hall Variety Show' on the BBC Light Programme, on 24th January 1961. The show used to be broadcast live every Monday and Friday lunchtime. The show was compared by Bill Gates and he introduces the group at the start of side 1. On side 2 Dusty Springfield introduces the second track!! I have not found either of these tracks on any other recordings by the group. Acetate Discs are 'one-off' discs which were made of aluminium, sprayed with lacquer and then cut directly onto the disc. This may have been a transcription disc, to be used to play on another radio show or it could have been cut for a member or members of the group. Vinyl :- VG condition; Acetate Discs have a lot more fragile recording surface than vinyl so quality is always less; Crackling, a few scuffs and scratches. There is some crazing on the lacquer on side 2. Sleeve :- Paper Sleeve; Some surface and ring wear on front and back, some staining,
