BEATLES -Mr. kite- EMIDISC ACETATE
On offer here is a UK acetate of the Beatles, "Mr. Kite". This 7 inch, one sided ,45 rpm ,mono acetate has Emidisc label with the handwritten
titles (faded),and cut by Emidisc London. This song was released as 'Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite' on the "Sgt.Peppers" lp by Parlophone
in 1967 .As I know it has never been released as a single in the UK .This acetate version is very similar to the released one ,but there is a
difference. On the acetate the end of the song continually fades ,as long as on the released version ends suddenly.
This disc (which has got typical smell of acetate) is not in as perfect condition as the other acetates you can see on Ebay ,however ,it is a rare item. The acetate (looks and plays ) is in VG condition .As with most acetates of this age, it has got a lot of surface marks. There are no serious scratches,
no skips or jumps. In the middle and the at the end of the song there are two cliks (for few seconds only). Strong background crackle throughout , but
the sound is still enjoyable.
This acetate (similar to my other acetates on ebay) came >from a collection that was a part of inheritance. I managed to buy this collection a few years ago. As I know the original owner worked for EMI,Germany.I have no further information of its origin.
