Description
Beatles Rare 3rd State Window Shade Mono Butcher Cover
Please read entire description/auction terms prior to bidding on this item. Thank You
If you've been looking for a unique and rare genuine "Window Shade" Butcher Cover that has been peeled but still has the very top portion of the trunk slick still attached just above the Butcher Slick, then this may be the one for you. No matter what anybody will tell you, all 2nd state (Unpeeled) Butcher Covers are unpredictable and very rarely are the trunk slicks able to be lifted cleanly in this manner. As a result, these are rarely offered for auction. While there is some commonly seen general condition issues on the jacket, this would be a fab addition to any Beatles fan's collection.
Please read the description below for specific details on condition.
This unique "Window Shade" peeled Butcher Cover is specifically for somebody who may want the best of both worlds in one jacket (peeled but the visual look of unpeeled while the trunk slick is down).
While the market is currently getting flooded with overhyped peels with large obvious large scars/damage, the good news for buyers is that this is one is a gorgeous peel without such issues. This one is far better than what is usually seen out there in this price range. But don't just take our word for it, look around and compare what you are buying for what price. Take a close look at the photos and please see below for specific condition description.
This item will be safely and securely double boxed and shipped to you via Priority Mail.
Condition:
Front of Jacket:
Front Peeled Butcher Slick presents nicely overall with no touch up to the Butcher Slick. A fantastic example of this rare treasure. (Please see photos)
Please see photos to verify specific condition and feel free to contact with questions.
Seams:
Top seam is complete. Bottom Seam appears to be professionally mended for approximately five inches with archival linen type paper tape. Both seams appears to be secure. To protect what remains of the seams, a record should never be attempted to be forced into this jacket.
Spine:
Spine shows most of the printing on top half still present although there is cracking and balding on 1 inch in the middle of the spine and approximately 3" of the bottom of the spine. These areas appear to be adhered and not loose. (See Spine photo).
Back Of Jacket:
The back of the jacket is decent shows light to average light wear and aging. Nothing out of the ordinary for a nearly 60 year old album jacket. (see photo of back of jacket).
Trunk Slick:
As mentioned previously, the trunk slick is still adhered at the very top border so that it can be lifted at will (as seen in photos). With the trunk slick in the down position in the included resealable sleeve, this looks nearly identical to the album before it was peeled with the exception of some minor wrinkle lines from the peeling process. There is some light staining to the trunk slick that was present before the peeling process.
Record/Inner Sleeve:
Comes complete with an East Coast Coast mono pressing in Fair to Good visual condition (more visible long scratches on side one and tape removal damage to label but less scratching on side two), but plays on Numark PT-01 much more like a VG pressing ! Obviously this was well loved back in the day and played quite a few times but certainly not handled like an audiophile example ! Comes with a correct Orange 1966 Capitol East Coast inner sleeve with minor splits.
Terms Of Auction/Shipping:
Due to recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays $34.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Shipping of such a high value, large package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. Regardless, the cost to you will be capped at $34.99. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts must contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold "AS IS" and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
T-Shirt Seen in Background on first few photos is NOT INCLUDED.
Thank You !
