ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING? Yes...and a STUNNING copy it is too.
Wherein Radio 2JJ-FM, a.k.a. DoubleJay (as the modern Triple-J was then known) decided to give away an LP of live tunes taken from a series of in-studio live performances (and Sydney concert recordings in the cases of AC/DC, Dragon, Skyhooks, and Renee Geyer) amassed over the previous two-and-a-half years....to subscribers of the station. Nice gift, because all these tracks have never been re-issued in any form elsewhere (as far as I know - prove me wrong). All songs recorded between March 1976 and June 1977. Apart from the artists just mentioned, there are performances by:
RADIO BIRDMAN (a kickin' snappy version of "Burned My Eye" that hits the mark and then buggers off before you've gotten fully into it) ...
JO JO ZEP & THE FALCONS (when their song as recorded they'd only had their first sigle out for literally one month...new boys on the block)...
Santana-ish prog group PANTHA (doing original reggae tune)...
JEFF ST. JOHN (ex-Copperwine - his song here is the most wild of all the progressive tracks on this...by far!...it's tough, heavy, and has truly killer guitar solo!!)...
prog group ARIEL (Mike Rudd, ex-Spectrum - you knew that, but did you know that he pulls out some very very nice prog guitar solo-ing here...no, thought not...well, he does - it's great!!)...
FEATHER (who were in fact, a later version of Blackfeather, still led by Neale Johns)...
FINCH (awesome hard-rock/prog stuff before they went completely glam...monster guitar solo-ing!)...
and TOMLIN (Adelaide glam/hard-rock group similar to Skyhooks)
- - - Let it be said that on their friggin' awesome version here of "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", AC/DC leaves nothing in the engine room - Bon is at his growly, wailing, screaming best, and the band thoroughly kicksARSE (can I say that here?) - - -
CONDITION:
COVER: (VG++)...front cover is laminated and not far from mint...back has some ringwear and is a bit grubby (umm, it's not too bad....you won't catch anything...see pic)...
VINYL: (MINT)...if it wasn't for the ONE and only spindle mark on one label, I'd suggest it'd never been played....vinyl is utterly pristine and as shiny as the day it left the pressing plant!...yeah, THAT good...
LABELS: (Side One: MINT / Side Two: MINT)...
