Mega Rare 1980s Private Heavy Metal Fuzz Guitar LP:

"WHITE BOY AND THE AVERAGE RAT BAND"

TRADEWIND RECORDS # MM 11761

Insanely rare early 80’s LP, which is hard rock full of fuzzy guitar. All songs are original, written the bands lead guitarist and vocalist Mike Matney. It is written about in ACID ARCHIVES:

“This is stretching the limits of the Archives here -- it's an 80s album and sounds much closer to the kind of post-punk hard rock that got college airplay in the late 80s than it does like anything else reviewed on this website. That said, it's speedy not-quite-metal hard rock with a pulverizing distortion sound (to call it "fuzz guitar" is to understate it by a mile). One song is acoustic, but mostly this is just an in-your-face blitzkrieg, and it's really great. [AM]”.

We have recorded clips from two of the songs on this album for you to hear below:

In addition to Mike Matney, the cover lists the other musicians as Tommy Altizer, bass guitars- Seth Kelly, rhythms- Tim Gilbert, percussions, and there is a dedication on the back cover from the band that reads “It’s been a long hard fight and one of us didn’t survive; rest easy old soldier—the fight goes on”.

The record is very clean and if you look closely under a lamp, the vinyl shows a bit of superficial surface marking and a few light surface scuffs. Some of the marking is from the record sliding against the sleeve. There is nothing even close to being able to be felt on the grooves. The cover has no seam & no spine splitting, no tears, and no writing. There is a bit of light surface wear on the cover, and a spot of tag residue near the bottom right side of the back cover. A nice copy of this very hard to find LP.

All LPs come packaged carefully in a sturdy corrugated box made specifically for mailing LPs plus a cardboard insert. The covers are placed in clear plastic record sleeves. The vinyl is removed from the cover (except for SEALED items) for shipping to prevent seam splitting during shipment.
