Description
Here is a lovely original UK example of Van Morrison's ultra rare album, Astral Weeks, on the coveted first press orange Warner Bros label from 1968. Yes, 1968 - this iconic work will be celebrating its 50th anniversary next year. The front laminated single flipback sleeve is in strong VG+ condition with a little creasing here and there, light corner wear and some laminate lift (not broken laminate); the vulnerable unlaminated white rear panel remains remarkably clean - there are no tears, rips, sticker issues or writing. The lovely disc is also in strong VG+ condition - perfectly flat with just light surface scuffs to be seen when critically examined under strong lighting, and no deep feelable scratches. Both orange Warner Bros labels look perfect with no writing or damage of any kind. This disc plays well, all the way through, both sides, with no skips or jumps, and just light pops and clicks inherent to early vinyl pressings. Astral Weeks is, of course, a magnificent album and this rare first pressing should prove to be a pleasure to own as well as a rock solid investment, particularly with the 50th anniversary of this work looming.
