Tubby Hayes Quintet - After Lights Out - UK Tempo LP Tap 6 1957 - 1st Pressing - Matrix Number VMGT- 1069-1B - This LP is incredibly Rare, in my 45 years of selling Jazz Collections I have only ever found one original first pressing once, when I spoke with Tony Hall the producer, about this LP, he told me that very few were pressed and only a handful were sold, which is incredibly sad that it took the UK Jazz Fans so long to catch on to their homegrown talent, This actual copy was used to make a Master for the famous Japanese reissue. Such is the quality of this particular copy, as the original master tapes no longer exist,
The Record lays completely flat on the turntable and retains its deep rich black lustre, I have played this LP in full, fantastic fidelity throughout there are just a couple of isolated clicks only on each side, visually there are no scuffs or scratches, with just a few light sleeve marks when viewed under extreme light. The Record is Excellent+ The Jacket has survived the passing of time remarkably well, still in fantastic condition, with a beautiful spine; the text is unblemished. There is a bubble in the lamination from the factory construction along the spine edge, plus some creases on the flip-backs, and a small piece of lamination is missing from the bottom right corner only; there are numerous images to see all details. The Jacket is Excellent + The printed inner sleeve is also Excellent + with very little signs of handling. To the winner of this auction, there is a contract stating my involvement in the Japanese reissue program if required. There will be more Tempo LPs listed in the New Year both Original and Japanese pressings.
The Jacket is separated to prevent splits. All Records are sent in a strong box with added stiffeners for protection
