Before its license expired, Vee-Jay Records repackaged The Beatles “Introducing The Beatles” album twice. One of these albums was “Songs, Pictures and Stories of the Fabulous Beatles” released by the company in June, 1964. The currently listed copy represents a very rare Stereo Version 2 of this album. This example was being sold as a souvenir in San Francisco during The Beatles tour in California in August 1964. Original thick cardboard unique ¾, 8-inch fold-over gatefold cover (front flap of the cover is shorter than the back flap) contains an ultra-rare promotional “Souvenir of Their Appearance at the Cow Palace, San Francisco – August 19, 1964” large banner sticker at the bottom of the front panel underneath the fully intact shrink wrap. The copies of “Songs, Pictures and Stories of the Fabulous Beatles” with the large black concert banner promo stickers were being sold exclusively at the concert venues. The front cover also contains an orange-red “Stereo” sticker below the concert banner. Original Stereo Vee-Jay VJLPS 1062 / 63-3402-S catalog number deep groove 2.75” diameter pressing ring silver print Vee-Jay logo black labels with a double “S” suffix and a “Stereo” banner at 3 o’clock as well as the left-justified song titles. True Stereo Monarch, Los Angeles plant pressing with the “S” prefix and suffix etched in the runout groove on both sides. The full 1st matrix numbers including the “MR in a Circle” stamp and Delta (△) stampers are as follows: Side 1 – S 63-3402-S △6313 MR in a Circle URJ; Side 2 – S 63-3403-S △6313X MR in a Circle URJ. The album comes with the original Vee-Jay Records "The Great Gospel Artists Are On Vee-Jay Records / Other Fine Albums Of Significant Interest" inner sleeve with a red background, featuring 50 color photos of other Vee-Jay releases.

The cover remaining in its original factory shrink wrap is in beautiful Near Mint Minus condition. We grade the vinyl visually as Very Good Plus. It has a beautiful lacquer gloss but has some very light non-feelable surface marks and hairlines as well as some scuffs from the original inner sleeve which is in Excellent condition without having any splits with only some light creases present along the top. The labels are super clean, scuff- and wear-free, and in Near Mint Minus condition, perhaps only having a couple of very light and barely noticeable spindle marks that can be seen under a strong light. The vinyl sounds great only having some very light occasional static which will most likely go away if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
