The Beatles Orig. RARE 1970 UK 'Let It Be' Box Set w/NM LP, VG+ Book on Apple.
Up for auction is the original UK release of 'Let It Be', the Beatles thirteenth and last UK album. Released 8th of May 1970 'Let It Be' was first issued as a special box set package which contains the "Let It Be" album with a red apple on the rear of the sleeve, and the 160 page "Get Back" book full of beautiful color and black & white photographs plus several pages of dialogue from the film. The box is a Garrod & Lofthouse thin, laminated outer sleeve with an inner box that houses the LP and book.
The thin material used in the set does not age well as seen in the photographs as it's easily subject to wear, minor bends and de-lamination.
Outer shell - Good condition for its age but shows signs of wear as noted above. Inner shell - Good condition with edge wear and creases. Inner box - this is designed to hold the book and is a modern replacement/replica in new condition.
LP Cover - VG condition. The same thin Garrod & Lofthouse laminated cardboard has an upper and lower right corner bend and the LP impression. No splits or tears. LP - plays NM. Nice sheen and very clean vinyl. The matrix is a 3U/2U. First pressings are 2U/2U so this LP is the earliest next to a first pressing. Labels - VG w/minor spindle marks. Unfortunately someone named 'Steve' decided to mark his territory on the side 2 label. 
Book - VG+. 160 pages! All of the books are prone to the spine breaking and pages coming loose. Not with this copy! It is in excellent condition with no creases or bends to the front or back, all pages are intact. It has not been viewed more than a few times over the years. 
This will be a true auction with a reasonable starting bid.
