TWO classic singles in Picture Sleeve
This auction is for TWO singles by punk-rock legends, The Sex Pistols. The singles are:
God Save the Queen – the second single released by the band. It was released during Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee in 1977 and reached number one in the British charts. Its lyrics, as well as the cover, were controversial at the time, and the BBC refused to play the song.
Pretty Vacant – the third single. This ode to apathy was released on 1 July 1977. The song marked the band's only appearance on the British music show Top of the Pops. The song is infamous for vocalist John Lydon's phrasing of the word "vacant", emphasizing the last syllable making it sound like a much taboo swear word.
Both singles are on the Australian Wizard label. They are both in very good condition.
I will be listing a lot of records over the next few weeks. My brother has decided to stay overseas & is selling his house here. He has given me the job of unloading a thirty-year collection of ‘stuff’ - most has been stored in the back shed for the past fourteen years. This is pretty much the last lot of boxes and there are a number of records. I do not have a turntable & so cannot test out the records. I will do my best to give an accurate description of the condition but all records are sold as is. If I can’t sell them they’ll go straight out in the rubbish.
