LP : Theo Schumann - Same

Original East-German pressing from 1981 on AMIGA JAZZ, 8 55 829, first press with dark red label. On his one and only record released under his own name, Theo Schumann teams up with several of the great GDR-jazz-musicians and performs with different line-ups. Varied styles from funky-fusion via modal influnced tracks to more bop-influenced tunes. Awesome Rhodes- & Synth-work, tasty arrangements, fat horn-section, soloist in peak-form, all tracks (but one) are selfpenned. Unfortunately you can only listen to “Totila” on youtube.

Condition: the record looks mint- to mint-- in daylight & in normal artificial light, it looks ex under a very strong halogen lamp. It plays in mint- except for one track wich has a few low tics behind the music.

The thin paper-cover is pretty sensitive and shows ringwear, all seams/spine are intact but rubbed (specially the bottom seam), front shows some creasing, the white back has some spots with slight darkening; overall vg--.

Zustand: die LP sieht bei Tageslicht & unter einer normalen Lampe mint- bis mint-- aus, unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe sieht sie ex aus. Sie spielt in mint- außer auf einem Titel der ein paar wenige leise Hintergrundtics hat.

Das dünne Papier-Cover ist recht empfindlich und zeigt ringwear, alle Kanten sind intakt aber mit Abrieb (vor Allem an der unteren Kante), Vorderseite hat leichte Fältelungen, die weisse Rückseite hat leichte Nachdunkelung an einigen Stellen; insgesamt in vg--.

Alle Platten wurden professionell gereinigt, entweder von mir (Hannl Mikro) oder von den Vorbesitzern (Okki Nokki, Loricraft o.Ä.). Anschließend wurden sie nur wenige Male abgespielt bzw. nur einmal von mir zum Bewerten angehört (komplett oder in Ausschnitten). Optische Bewertung erfolgt in Tageslicht, in normalen Kunstlicht & unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe. Platten kommen mit neuer hochwertiger Innenhülle & in einer Schutzhülle. Bitte beachten: auch prof. gereinigte Platten können einige Staubpartikel haben; “eingefangen” während optischer & akkustischer Bewertung, Fotografieren oder den wenigen Abspielungen der Vorbesitzer.

Grading & Cleaning:

• all records have been cleaned on a professional record cleaning machine, either by me (Hannl Mikro) or by the pre-owners (Okki Nokki, Loricraft or the like). After cleaning the records have been played just a few times (or only once by me for playgrading)

• I playgrade each record (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, high-end Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN/ EMT TU-3 SFL (please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment)

• I also visually grade cleaned records in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

• only an unplayed record is mint, my highest grading for a used record is mint- . My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

• cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve

• pl. note: even pro cleaned records may have received some dust particles during visual-/play-grading, photographing or few pre-owner playbacks
