THE BEATLES - PLEASE PLEASE ME LP
PARLOPHONE (PMC 1202).
ORIGINAL 1963 MONO BLACK AND GOLD LABEL PRESSING!!!
MATRIX Nos: XEX 421-1N / XEX 422-1N.
LAMINATED "ERNEST J. DAY & Co" SLEEVE AND ORIGINAL EMITEX INNER.
LABELS HAVE:
"DICK JAMES" CREDIT FOR ASK ME WHY AND PLEASE PLEASE ME
"NORTHERN SONGS LTD" LABEL CREDIT FOR I SAW HER STANDING THERE, MISERY, DO YOU WANT TO KNOW A SECRET AND THERE'S A PLACE.
Record: The record is in good+ condition, by no means trashed and still a very serviceable copy. There is also some groove wear to the beginning of the first track on side 2. This sounds but only as far as the second chorus and thanks to the fullness of the music it is not that distracting - so it really isn't as bad as one might think. Apart from this the rest of the LP plays fine, a little background as is to be expected, but the music is loud, dominant and very clear - no problems. It certainly plays much better than grade, I would say that it plays VG. Cover: The cover has been kept in a plastic sleeve and so remains nice and clean - in fact the white rear is still ultra-white and it is seldom to find one so clean. The flipbacks are all very well-preserved aswell (unlike most covers of this LP). All seams and spine are nice and solid, no splits at all. The front has some creasing, nothing major and a small surface abrasion near the opening edge. All in all a very nice VG+ if not better.
