Description

The Beatles

A Hard Day’s Night

This ex+/m- 1st UK MONO pressing dates from initial July 1964 release on the yellow & black Parlophone labels PMC 1230.

Both labels bear the earliest 'chubby' style font with the 'Sold in UK...' text with 'The Parlophone Co Ltd…' rim texts.

Matrix numbers: XEX 481-3N & XEX482-3N

Stamper codes: 2RDM & 1GLA

Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex'…' inner-sleeve.

Condition

Vinyl

Both sides of the record are in ex+ condition with an excellent gloss. Side 2 displays one or two ultra-faint sleeve-removal traces in a sharp light. It’s almost impossible to find this album in this condition after 50 years.

Audio

The sound of record is in near m- condition for all playing time with no background noise, such as: pops, clicks. The same is also between tracks, so you can be sure that the record is free from disturbances.

Labels

Both record labels are in ex+ condition with no visible defects other than one faint spindle trail on side 2.

Inner sleeve

The original white poly-lined "Emitex" inner sleeve is in absolutely excellent condition with no rips or marks, only light creasing which is just caused by age.

Cover

The front-laminated, flipback 1st press sleeve is in m- condition with no tears or written marks, with perfectly readable spine and a splendidly straight and unworn opening edge. There are some very, very small creases on the front laminate, but it’s still shines. The rear of the sleeve is unmarked and unfaded. A truly amazing copy! You won’t find a better copy for sure.
