IN CONCERT NO. 263
This disc is a BBC Transcription Services original recording of Steve Hackett in concert in 1981.
These records are very rare. They were never on general release. Because they are original recordings of live concerts by the BBC, the sound quality is excellent.
They were recorded for transmission on overseas radio stations who paid an annual subscription to the BBC for a selection of programmes, some of which were originated by Transcription Services, and others were a pick of the best from BBC Radio. They were able to use them as often as they liked until the usage license expired and after expiry, these discs were then mostly binned. Hence their rarity…….
This particular one was recorded in 1981 and usage expired in April 1986. This disc looks like it’s never been played – it’s in excellent condition.
For all Steve Hackett fans, this is a brilliant addition to your collection.
