Description
Artist: Samurai
Title: Samurai
Label: Greenwich Gramophone Company (GSLP1003)
Year: 1971 (UK Orig.)
Condition (vinyl: Near Mint), (Gatefold Cover/Sleeve: EX / VG+)
Extremely rare UK prog album featuring members of the band Web. Released on the obscure Decca subsidiary ‘Greenwich Gramophone Company’. Original copies of this LP only very rarely become available. This copy looks almost unplayed – some very light inaudible marks which I think were even present when new, but otherwise in superb condition. Please note that the reserve price and starting bid price are set to reflect this.
The sleeve, which has always been kept in a plastic protective cover, is also in great condition considering its age with very minor wear to the corners and edges, a few tiny creases in places and also a slight rounded-shape ghost impression which the 12" record inside has imprinted above the word "Samurai" on the face, and corresponding interior and back of the gatefold cover/sleeve. There is also a small tear of 1cm into the paper top opening of the plastic-lined protective record sleeve. Most of these minor points should be noticeable in the photographs provided.
Dave Lawson – Vocals & keyboards
Tony Edwards – Electric and Acoustic Guitar
John Eaton – Bass
Kenny Beveridge – Drums
Lennie Wright – Bibes, Drums and Percussion
Tony Roberts – Tenor Sax, Concert & Alto Flutes, Bass Clarinet
Don Fay – Tenor, Alto and Baritone Sax, Concert Flute
Happy Bidding!
