THE ROLLING STONES - 'THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES REQUEST'
1967 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING LP
This extremely early & EXCELLENT copy is a 1967 UK 1st MONO pressing on the 'deep-groove', unboxed light blue & silver Decca label: TXL 103
Housed in a lavish outer laminated 'Robert Stace' printed gatefold mono cover with '3-D' panel attached to the front leaf.
Complete with its original red & white 'smoke' design inner-sleeve.
Matrices: ARL-8126-T2-1K & ARL-8127-T2-1K
There are no stamper codes in either run out. However 'KT' purchase tax codes are present in both.

Both are clean & bright bearing numerous spindle trails around each centre-hole but no other significant signs of wear.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Both playing surfaces are clean & glossy but do display several light surface marks & wispy hairlines consistent with frequent careful play. There are no deep or feelable marks or any major wear to either surface. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp does nothing more than highlight the aforementioned marks and add a sparkling rainbow gloss.
Play: VERY GOOD +
This copy has clearly received a number of careful plays but my single play-check did not reveal and singificant deterioration to the sound quality overall. There is a touch of light background on the beginnings of the opening tracks to each side no evidence of any groove/playwear distortion on any track or in either channel. Some light background present on the quieter passages during side 2 and there are a few light clicks in 'The Lantern' but no further lessening to the sound quality or any jumps, repeats or other major faults.
Cover
EXCELLENT
An extremely strong and clean example with a bright 3-D panel which bears just a little light scratching from storage but no glue bleed-through around its edges. The front leaf itself is clean with no discolouration and just a tiny crease to the extreme lower right corner but no wear to any of the exposed edges. All corners are free from any bumps, bruising or damage to the corners of the spine. The inside of the gatefold is clean & unmarked, retaining all its vibrant colours. The rear panel is immaculate with a clean high-gloss laminate which bears no wrinkles or scratching at all. Both seams are fully intact and unstressed and the spine fully laminated, worded and totally unworn.
Inner-sleeve
VERY GOOD +
Clean & flat with just some light wear to the upper edge & a tiny 2cm lower seam split.
