TWO different mono versions of this LP exist. Original 1st pressings with '-1P/-P1' matrices contain the true/dedicated mono mix. Later copies with matrices ending in '2K' are 'fold-downs' of the stereo mix.

You can actually hear the difference in between a '-1P/-P1' true mono pressing and a 'T2' stereo fold-down, for example on the song “The Lantern”, where there is a bell tolling in the beginning of the song. On the true mono mix the bell tolls three times before the music starts - the '2K' mono fold-down & the real stereo LP has the bell tolling twice before the music starts.

This superb 1st UK MONO pressing dates from initial December 1967 release on the deep-groove turquoise Decca label: TXL 103

A clean & bright set showing only a small handful of light spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Both playing surfaces are clean and retain all of their deep-gloss factory shine. There are a few light turntable scuffs on side 2 but certainly nothing I would call a scratch anywhere in strong daylight. Closer inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals little more than a few harmless light hairlines and a sparkling rainbow shine.

Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +

This well looked-after copy has received minimal careful play and is without any significant or major audible faults throughout. All of the power and clarity of this true mono mix shines through, with just a hint of low-level vinyl background on the delicate introduction to 'Sing This All Together' and on the bands between tracks on side 2. My single careful playcheck at volume found no trace of any groove/playwear distortion and no clicks, pops or any other distractions. You will not be disappointed with the sound quality of this disc.

Cover: EXCELLENT -

A respectable example of this lavish cover. The front panel is clean with the 3-D panel fully intact bearing just a few fingernail scuffs but no adhesive bleed-though around edges. There is a hint of discolouration/wear along the upper edge of the front leaf ,but all corners are in good shape with no heavy bumps or bruising to any.

Unfortunately someone has attempted to complete the maze on the left panel of the gatefold, but the right panel is clean.

The rear panel is clean & unblemished and retains an unscratched, high-gloss finish.

There is a touch of shelfwear rubbing along the lower seam but the spine is clean & fully worded with no tears either end

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT

Clean & flat with a few gentle bends but no writing, tears or seam splits.
