Description
An original 1st issue of Their Satanic Majesties on the UK Decca label from the time of release. Matrix T2-1K/T2-1K. The deep-groove is still present on this copy which is indicative of an early pressing. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono gatefold cover. Also included is the original Red inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In absolutely fantastic condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we struggles to make out a single mark. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. TSM is chock full of acoustic numbers and percussion - you really need a well preserved early copy to do it any sort of justice at all. This copy is a very low-mileage example and that is a difficult thing to track down. Beautifully lush audio with fantastic depth and clarity. Interference is very minimal. All we could detect was a touch of light static in one or two sections [literally]. This is one seriously well preserved LP...
Cover (Ex+) Well, this is a real humdinger if ever I saw one. The lenticular variety aren't rare [per se] but they are not often that well preserved. That's the tricky thing to find - and this copy is truly like no other I've seen. Most importantly it is very very flat. these early copies were prone to a bit of bend and warping. Particularly the lenticular image which very often curls up or fractures. This one is perfectly flat with no glue residue at all. The image is as good as you could possibly hope for with no damage or dulling. Edge wear is almost totally absent and it really is very impressive. Openings are sharp and this, again, suggests limited use. The only vaguely noticeable thing is a tiny crease in the bottom right. The spine is 100% intact and the cover retains perfect rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) A few creases and one 1 inch side split. Otherwise aok.
