Note from label expert Robert Campbell
The owner of the Chicago Haven label was Joseph DeJohnette, also the proprietor of the Avenue Lounge. DeJohnette got some ink in the Defender on account of starting his own record label. This was on October 1, 1953; supposedly he was about to take Prince Cooper's trio into the studio. We haven't found any such Prince Cooper sides, but now we know that DeJohnette did start Haven.
Only 5 known 45's ; all released in 1954
After listening to the clips.
I have a strong suspicion that the accompaniment on Haven 511 and on the "Rhythm" side of Haven 510 is by the Prince Cooper Trio
