Description
A rare 1971 Spanish first pressing of The Rolling Stones masterpiece Sticky Fingers, with the Spanish-only album cover.
While the rest of the world released Sticky Fingers in Andy Warhol’s famed cover featuring jeans, a zipper and underwear, censors in Spain under General Franco wouldn’t permit the cover to be used there. They also objected to the song “Sister Morphine”. As a result, a Spanish-only a version was devised, substituting a live version of Chuck Berry’s “Let It Rock” for “Sister Morphine” and packaged in this unique-to-Spain album cover.
While it was re-released at least once, this is the earliest version, with a thick laminated cover and thick deep-groove disc (grooves from the pressing machine are visible on the disc’s labels.)
The clean cover grades EX+ with some lamination creasing/corner creasing. The disc grades Near Mint/Near Mint-, probably only a few times. With song title/credit insert.
We grade all records visually, cover first, then disc; using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with + and -. We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound.
