Description

Here for auction is a LOVELY example of the ROLLING STONES album titled “AFTERMATH”, with the INCREDIBLY RARE PURPLE SHADOW SLEEVE!!! Not only that but this is an ORIGINAL 1966 DECCA UK MONO 1st PRESSING with the EARLIEST 1B/ 1A Matrix Numbers. Catalogue Number LK 4786. A RARE FIND INDEED!!!

The fragile PURPLE SHADOW SLEEVE is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. There is some laminate creasing on the front cover and light discoloration to the back. The edges and corners have VERY LITTLE WEAR, and the spine is SOLID with all writing CLEARLY LEGIBLE. There is a small price inscription (32/-) by the Catalogue Number on the back.

The HEAVILY PRESSED VINYL is in EXCELLENT CONDITION, and retains much of its ORIGINAL LUSTRE. There are a few light surface marks which do not affect play. The deep red, grooved Decca labels with SILVER UNBOXED DECCA LOGOS are also EXCELLENT with just light spindle marks evident.

The Matrix Numbers are: Side 1 XARL-7209-1B and Side 2 XARL-7210-1A.

Complete with the ORIGINAL DECCA plain white poly-lined inner sleeve which is in EXCELLENT CONDITION.

A critical play-grading on my REGA turntable showed why these early MONO FIRST PRESSINGS are so SOUGHT AFTER. The CLARITY and WARMTH that emanates from these grooves is VERY SPECIAL!!! The record PLAYS BRILLIANTLY with all frequencies CLEAR and SHARP and very little unwanted noise. The quiet acoustic introductions to Lady Jane and Goin’ Home, so often spoiled by excessive surface noise on worn copies, PLAY BEAUTIFULLY.

DON’T MISS THIS ONE!!!

This record is from my own personal collection. I take a lot of care when advertising records - and will NOT overgrade!! I only sell records that I would be happy to receive myself. Please check out my 100% POSITIVE feedback.
