Description
1) Without a doubt THE VINYL DISCOVERY OF THE XXI CENTURY : italian RCA only triple EP Box release found in 2015 from a lady whose father ran a Clock-Repair & Radio-Grammophone Records shop in Asti (north of Italy) since 1952. He received this triple Ep's Box from the italian RCA as promotional device. He was also a member of E.N.A.L. the main italian workers-association that had an agreement with the italian RCA to have discounts on italian RCA issues for their E.N.A.L. enrolled members.
This box is similar to the US Elvis/JP_Morgan double Ep or the US Elvis SPD-23 triple Ep. Promotional only release not intented for commercial purpose. Or at least 1-2 copies would have surfaced during the past 50 years.
This EP's Box is THE RAREST ELVIS ITALIAN & WORLDWIDE VINYL RELEASE AVAILABLE IN 1 COPY ONLY as NO OTHER was known before and 99.99% NO OTHER will ever surface after. A truly great chance for the first serious collector interested to set in this wonderful and special set.
The Box was printed by "MARENDINO" in December 1956, while the 3 records inside were of course italian RCA issues from same period. All the records come with THEIR ORIGINAL ITALIAN RCA INNER SLEEVES STAMPED IN BLUE INK BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER WITH THE ORIGINAL BUSINESS NAME, ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER.
The Box is 100% GENUINE and I got it exactly the way you can see it now here on eBay. NO MORE THAN three 45rpm RECORDS WOULD FIT INSIDE OR THE BOX WOULD NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. Besides, BACK TO EARLY 50's NO RECORD COMPANY IN THIS GREEN EARTH would ever let more than 3 records to be included in a 45rpm Box. 3 discs plus the Box were already a huge cost for the company for editing a promotional release. The slick on the front of the Box is LAMINATED following the similar criteria used by italian RCA for other Elvis (and non-Elvis) EP releases during the 50's. On the left inside an other slick contains the last Elvis italian discography from way back September untill December 1956. On the spine is still readable the ITALIAN RCA LOGO STAMPED IN GOLD.
Being a promotional device NO RCA NUMBER was ever associated to the Box, indeed were the single records to deem up with their italian RCA catalogue numbers and of course (economy purpose) none of them were coupled with any Picture Sleeve. The italian RCA would insert inside the Box 3 Ep's only among the following :

but NOT the Rock'n'Roll Rhapsody A72V.0068 being this one a VARIOUS ARTISTS release while this Box was entirely DEDICATED TO PROMOTE ELVIS. Moreover, in December 1956 the italian RCA had already scheduled the notorious XMAS BALL A72V.0068 release.
2) Next, the E.N.A.L. RCA card : the fact this card was found along the Ep Box does not mean the Box is from later than DEC-1956 ! Since the previous owner was member of E.N.A.L (ENTE NAZIONALE ASSISTENZA LAVORATORI) he retained his UNUSED & UNMARKED member-card inside the Box since then. Italian RCA used to provide promotions for discounted record orders through addressing such cards to shop-owners enrolled to E.N.A.L. that was one of the main Workers Association operating in Italy from 1945 untill 1978 the year when it was suppressed. This card could have been found in any other Box...or any other place. The fact I found it along THIS Elvis Box was just a by-chance episode but the Box is exactly from DEC-1956 make no mistake about that. The E.N.A.L. RCA card is just a very interesting add-on artfact linked with the era though NOT connected with the exact month/year the Box was issued.
