Description

Beautiful *Near Mint Fully Complete* 1973 UK Stereo Harvest EMI Pressing 'Dark Side Of The Moon' by Pink Floyd Complete with Both Posters, Both Stickers and Beautiful Garrod & Lofthouse Stickered Gatefold Sleeve in Near Mint Museum Quality Condition!!! Massively Rare in this Condition!!!

Let me start by saying that I have never seen or heard another copy of DSOTM that looks or plays like this. It is truly the best UK example you will ever see or hear. You are bidding on a STUNNING UK 1973 Harvest/EMI stereo 2nd Pressing of this all time classic LP by Pink Floyd!!! It is the slightly later 1970's UK pressing (although I would still very early at mid 1970's; in fact for an indication of how early it is - the Stickers are still made 'Fasprint', the company who made the stickers for the original first press. The sticker manufacturing company was switched relatively early into the press run approx 1976, so this must have been a very early pressing!) It is on the Faded Blue Prism Label with the  'Gramophone Co. Ltd' and 'Made in Gt. Britain' centre label text. The thing that sets this record apart from literally thousands of other is it's absolutely sensational Near Mint / Near Mint condition throughout!  Although a slightly later 1970's pressing, this album rarely (if ever) turns up in this condition nowadays! It is pure Museum Quality!! The cool 1970's vinyl is in visually and aurally stunning condition and shines with a 'just pressed' look and feel, it really looks as if this record came off the press yesterday!!! I have had one play from new and no spindle alignment lines on Side 2 (Side 1 has one solitary wisp) Although there are still a few of these LP's kicking about, you will be NOT find an early UK Press complete with all posters AND stickers AND original Inner in MINT CONDITION throughout!!! I have handled thousands of rare UK LP's in my time collecting but have NEVER seen a DSOTM like this before - I am certain that this LP has only ever had 1 play before!  It really is a MUSEUM QUALITY  copy of this groundbreaking LP. You will NEVER find another UK press copy of this legendary LP in such amazing condition!!! I HAVE HAD SOME VERY, VERY GOOD COPIES OF THIS LP RECENTLY, BUT I CAN SAY WITHOUT DOUBT THAT THIS IS THE BEST OF THE LOT- I HAVE NEVER SEEN BETTER!!!!

Please check our other auctions as we have some more incredibly rare 1st pressings and rarities by Pink Floyd currently listed and ending soon, including a mega rare UK 1st pressing of 'The Wall'  perfect companion for this LP!!!

This vinyl is in stunning immaculate condition!!! The Classic UK press 'Faded Prism' centre labels are in pristine Near Mint condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Grubbyness, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! Side 2 has NO spindle alignment lines and It is very hard to discern any spindle lines at all on the Side 1 label (there is just one small solitary wisp). Please see the close-up images I have provided below. I can safely tell you that this record has only ever been played once before!  Play grading was done very lightly on a very high grade Mitchell turntable so, to all intents and purposes, it doesn't really count as an additional play. The gramophone rims containing the all-important 1st press Matrix are also obviously Mint!!!

As described above - the 1st press vinyl itself is in Stunning **Nr Mint** condition!!! There are NO Scratches, NO Hairlines, NO Paperlines! and NO Groovewear, NO warping, NO Scuffs. Nothing!  This disc is Near mint without a single mark on it! Beautiful! Which brings me nicely along the the play-grade, and it is astounding!  This record actually brought shivers down my spine on the play grade. Hearing it like this was almost like hearing is for the first time again. To say I enjoyed it is an understatement - this particular record has made me fall in love with DSOTM all over again. It has a beautiful loud clear and defined 1st press stereo punch that will blow you away! And here is the kicker, it is the quietest playing copy I have ever heard!!! There is virtually NO hissing, crackles, pops, etc - no even on the run ins or between tracks! You will never hear a quieter UK copy!  I can say nothing else about this beautiful record - it's absolutely perfect and Near Mint!!! I can say without doubt that this is the best looking and most pristine playing UK pressing you will ever see or hear!

The early 1970's non-laminated stickered Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve is also in pristine ***Near Mint*** condition!  I feel like breaking one of my rules and giving this sleeve a *Mint* grading because it is absolutely perfect! I have never seen this sleeve even approaching this kind of condition before!  This is perfect, with NO Tears, NO Seam/Edge/Spine Wear, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind! It is completely blemish free with a pristine near mint sheen - this is how they must have looked when they were purchased from new back in the early 1970's! !!! The sleeve lies perfectly flat and stiff with mint sharp corners & pristine straight unworn edges. It could have been made yesterday. The surface sheen is absolutely pristine! It looks and feels beautiful. Truly stunning. The gatefold opens out perfectly to reveal a pristine Nr Mint- un-laminated inner! There is some light bubbling to the sticker, but it is still firmly attached to the sleeve. If I can find anything wrong with this sleeve, it has just a very light small superficial surface crease on the reverse side. There is no wear at all to the spine (it is also Mint) or opening edges, no ring-wear, no writing/scribbles etc, no discolouration and no blemishes. Everything about this sleeve is perfect  - like I said this is a museum-quality copy! This sleeve grades as a superb straight Mint or Near Mint!!!

Comes complete with BOTH stickers and BOTH posters  - none have ever been removed from inside the sleeve except for the photos and are as crisp and clean as you will ever see them!

Comes with original **Near Mint** UK white inner sleeve with the Made in Great Britain' and 'Patents' text (only the UK 1st pressings came with the black sleeve) It is also nice and clean, crisp and white with no seam wear/splitting or scribbles/unwanted writing etc. Again, like everything about this album - it is Near Mint!

Do not underestimate the rarity of this record in this kind of condition -  If you are a collector/investor, the price of this record will just rise and rise. An absolutely essential UK pressing to own in this complete and beautiful condition!!! Don't miss this one!

This is seen by many as the best progressive record ever made-  and complete copies in such stunning condition are as such is in very, very high demand today. If you have never heard it, you will not find another copy that plays more pristinely than this- it will blow you away!!! If you are a collector/investor, the price of this Museum Quality record will just rise and rise. An absolutely essential (and very rare) record to own in this complete and beautiful condition!!! Don't miss this one - its definitely worth pushing the boat out for - whoever wins this record will be very lucky indeed!!!

I have tried to show you the record from all angles using extra large images. If you are not sure of anything just email me - I will be happy to help. Don't underestimate the rarity of this LP; Good Luck!

Please read - It has recently been pointed out to me that some eBay sellers have been using my images without permission. If you are thinking of lifting some images from my pages - please don't. You will be reported and your auction will be removed by eBay. It's not that I mind, in fact its kinda flattering, my real problem is that whoever does this is not showing a true image of the actual record they are selling. The condition of old 1960's & 70's records varies greatly, no two are in exactly the same condition when they are this age. All my pictures are very specific to the actual records I sell and it is wholly misleading to to show these images with reference to a different record - whoever does this is not being fair to the buyer. Thanks for reading.

I will be selling my entire UK 1st Press collection of 1960/70's Psych/Prog./Beat/Rock & Folk over the coming months, most of these records are in Mint- condition, many having 3 figure book prices. All will be listed here on eBay UK, most with a £2.99 start and No Reserve - bookmark my pages. Like the vast majority of my collection, this record has been archived upright in a thick outer PVC sleeve in a smoke & damp free environment since purchase!

All my records have No reserve, a Low Start and No Surcharges!

Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
