Description
DUE TO AN ODD AMOUNT OF CANCELLED BIDS AND NON-PAYING WINNERS FROM ITALY, I HAVE NOW BLOCKED ALL BIDS FROM ITALY. I APOLOGISE TO MY MANY ITALIAN CUSTOMERS. GENUINE ITALIAN BUYERS CAN CONTACT ME ABOUT THIS BUT I WILL NEVER ALLOW BIDS FROM ITALIANS WITHOUT ANY FEEDBACK HISTORY.
Over the next few weeks and months I will be listing a quite lovely collection of Pink Floyd albums.
These will all be at least decent playing copies, but mostly will be of excellent quality, some even better than that. They will include some UK 1st pressings, and if not they will be extremely early pressings. All matrix/mother/stamper combinations will be listed (so long as they are readable!) so you can tell exactly what you are bidding on. All gradings are by visual examination and by play-grading, strictly to record collector guidelines.
So here we have some of Floyds earliest released material and more, spanning the period from 1968 to 1979. these are all compilation albums, all first pressings.
RELICS (UK 1971) MASTERS OF ROCK (ITALY 1980) A COLLECTION OF GREAT DANCE SONGS (UK 1981)
A full description is set out below, with qualifying criteria for first pressings. Please not that these are visual assessments to Record Collector guidelines. Because the vinyl is hear perfect, I would expect these to play superbly well. If there are ANY ISSUES AT ALL, I offer a full refund with return postage paid by myself, so win-win.
RELICS:- Matrices are A1 and B2, the very earliest. earliest. Mother / stampers are 2 MT & 4 MO, so a very early first pressing. So many of these creamy textured white covers have not lasted well. Often coloured in, stained or just really dirty. This one is really clean. No shelf-wear at all. No damage. Spine is fully readable. Very clean and solid. An excellent cover. The paper inner sleeve is generic white with Made in Great Britain and patent number text. Some discolouration due to age with a small slit to one edge only. The vinyl surfaces themselves are in an incredible condition. This has been very well cared for over the years. There are no marks to either side. They look pristine. This an absolute peach of a copy. First press, first class.
MASTERS OF ROCK:- This is the Italian first pressing. Identified by the mis-spelling of two of the tracks which was corrected on later issues. The 2 errors appear on side one of the labels and on the cover too. Matilda mother is printed as Mathilda Mother, and Candy and a currant bun is printed as Candy and a current bun. Only first pressings have these errors. The cover is in excellent shape. No shelf-wear at all. Spine is fully readable. There is a small bump to the bottom left hand corner, but this is a minimal issue. The inner sleeve is generic white die-cut with shallow angle cropped corners. Still very white and crisp. A lovely example. As with "Relics", the vinyl surfaces are in pristine condition. There are no marks to either side. This should play beautifully. Hard to imagine a finer pressing.
A COLLECTION OF GREAT DANCE SONGS:- This is a very early first UK pressing with matrices A-1U & B-2U. The 3rd UK compilation released by the band. The UK never pressed a copy of "Masters of rock". The cover is in great shape with just a couple of tiny shelf-wear spots to the top edge only (has it been stored upside-down?). Spine fully readable. Nice cover with no other damage or issues to mention. The inner sleeve is the original with magenta artwork. A very clean example with no damage at all. Cannot be faulted. The vinyl surfaces, once again, are just about pristine. No marks to either side. No other comments required really.
So, in summing up. These are 3 compilations in superb condition. The material spans work from their first studio album right through to "The wall". Some great tracks, whether you like your Floyd a bit raw from the late 60's, or prefer some of their work from "Wish you were here" or "The wall". I think it would be almost impossible to find a better example of each. The fact that they are all genuine first pressings is a huge bonus. I am sure the eventual winner will be more than pleased.
All albums will be housed in a brand new heavy duty polythene cover. All vinyl's will be housed in a new anti-static inner sleeve. I pack my albums for transit in the most secure packaging imaginable and send 1st class signed for postage with The Royal Mail. I only charge exactly what it costs me, sometimes less!
I accept returns if I am notified as soon as possible after you receive the albums. This has to be due to it being wrongly described. Not just for a change of mind. I take the time to provide quality photographs of the albums, along with a detailed description, so please respect this.
I will post overseas, but not to Russia, Belarus or Ukraine. Postage within the EU is around £17. Worldwide postage is around £27. If these prices differ once I have packed and weighed them, I will refund the difference immediately. If it costs any more, I will stand the extra cost myself. Win win!
If you have any questions, or require more photos, just let me know.
Many excellent Floyd titles still to be listed (over 120), so please keep an eye out for my future sales or add me as a favourite seller to get notifications of listing.
Good luck if you decide to bid.
