GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : un film d'amore, tenero ed intelligente, è insolitamente illustrato da una musica piuttosto nervosa e a tratti cupa. Certamente non è una pecca ma al contrario un interessante documento sonoro che Sarde e il suo eccellente collaboratore Hubert Rostaing hanno confezionato. Ricordo adesso qualche brano. "Le Cortege et Course" (a2) una sorta di marcia frenetica a cui il suono del sintetizzatore conferisce una certa ossessività. "Free Jazz" (a5) caratterizzata da un lungo assolo del basso con pochi altri strumenti in sottofondo tra i quali la batteria e la tromba. "La Lettre de Rosalie" (b3) dove Romy Schneider legge con giusta emotività una lettera, "César Court chez Antoine" (b4) con percussioni ossessive e "Epernay sous la Pluie" (b5) in cui violini e sintetizzatore danno vita a un brano di buona sperimentalità.

Notes : a tender and intelligent love story is unusually depicted by a rather nervous and sometimes gloomy music. It is certainly not a flaw but on the contrary an interesting sound document that Sarde and his excellent collaborator Hubert Rostaing have produced. Now I mention a few tracks. "The Cortege et Course" (a2) a kind of frantic march where the sound of the synthesizer gives a certain obsessiveness. "Free Jazz" (a5) is characterized by a long solo bass with a few other instruments in the background including drums and trumpet. "La Lettre de Rosalie" (b3) in which Romy Schneider reads a letter with the right emotionality, "César Court chez Antoine" (b4) with haunting percussion and "Epernay sous la Pluie" (b5) wherein violins and synthesizer give life to a track of good experimentation.
