KESTREL – KESTREL LP. This is an original copy of this extremely rare and highly acclaimed progressive rock album, released on Cube (HIFLY 19) in 1975. The band hailed, I believe, from Newcastle and although this, their only album, sank more or less without trace when originally released (and, hence, there are very few copies around - I have never even seen another one !), it is now rightly regarded as something of a prog masterpiece and is certainly one of finest British prog albums ever recorded. Original copies are now exceptionally scarce and very highly sought after, especially in this fine condition. The front cover has a little light ringwear, small sticker remove top right and a couple of very light stains on the rear (see photos) whilst the vinyl is in nice glossy condition with only the usual and inevitable few light surface marks/lines which should not affect play. It looks, from the spindle marks, to have been played only about two or three times. All in all, this is a fine collectable example of this near 30 year old progressive ultra rarity. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED – As a record collector for many years, I know only too well that, despite the various systems now used, grading remains largely subjective, everyone essentially having their own ideas as to what NM-, EX+, VG++ etc. should mean ! Instead, I try to describe each record (via a visual inspection) as honestly and accurately as I can – perhaps to the point of being overly critical, as even new records, let alone those of 30-40 year vintage, can have some marks ! If, however, your standards are even higher and you are genuinely unhappy with my assessment, a refund of the purchase price will be given upon return of the record, at buyer’s expense, in the same condition as sent. Please bear in mind that many (if not most !) vinyl records usually have at least one or two light surface marks (lines/grazing/scuffs) mainly due to their paper inner-sleeves. As these usually do not affect play at all, such slight imperfections may not necessarily be specifically mentioned in the item description.
