LP : Orchester Peter Herbolzheimer / Henry Malberg’s Multi-Gitarren

One of the rarest and funkiest Herbolzheimer records, original German pressing on the tiny ALTAXON library-label, early 70ies, AL-1003. First side has the Orchestra, side 2 has a smaller line-up of probably the same musicians, some people like this side is even better, maybe due to the funky Fender Rhodes playing on all tunes. Tracks are composed by Dieter Reith, Herbolzheimer, Fritz Maldener ( =Maurice Pop!) a.o. Musicians sound like the ones on the MPS records of that period (Dieter Reith etc.).
The guitarist hiding behind the alias of H.Malberg is in my opinion Heinz Kitschenberg, who is also listed as the composer of the 1st track/2nd side called ”Porto Cervo”. Kitschenberg has played on other Herbolzheimer records (“Soul Condor”,”My Kind Of Sunshine”), on early Doldinger outputs, he is also the guitarist on Dieter Reith’s “Open Drive”MPS-LP and on K.Kiesewetter’s MPS-LP ”Stop!Watch!And Listen!”, he was one of the most in-demand studio-musicians of that time.
Tons of rare-grooves “In-Kraut”-style, latin grooves, mod-jazz, dope beats etc. Some highlights are: the “Wah-Wah”-trombone solo on “Honky Tonk Money” (probably played by Jiggs Wigham), the killer-rhodes on “Mexican Lady”, the moog-bassline on “Floop Special” and the wild drums & percussion on “Soul Puppets”. Outstanding record that does not show up too often !

Zustand: die LP ist optisch & akkustisch in mint-. Das Cover ist in mint-. alle Platten habe ich professionell gereinigt und angehört (meist ganz, manchmal in Ausschnitten). Kommen mit neuer Außen- & Innenhülle !

Grading & Cleaning:

  • the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

  • after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

  • I also visually graded the record in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

  • only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

  • cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve
