EX/EX (Cover/LP) The album is an instrumental mixture of uplifting, ambient-but-solid rock, based on solid driving bass-lines, full of clever effects, reversed recording etc, and some tracks of experimental noise. It has a purity and efficiency that is very appealing, it`s minimal but never leaves you feeling that there isn`t enough to it. Something that makes this stand out is it`s totally timeless quality.

 

Neu! is probably the most pleasant of Krautrockers, leaning more toward ambient soundscapes (like Tangerine Dream) than abrasive experimentation, but with enough of a rock rhythm that it's not purely ambient.

 

That signature motorik beat, complemented by subtle guitar flourishes, which you can find in "Hallogallo" is certainly one of the most pleasant musical styles I have heard and justifiably revered.  This debut is an important piece of rock history.
