Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. Short-live Kraut obscurity from the city of Bremen in Germany. In their one year of life Gash produced the highly collectable LP ''A Young Man's Gash'' on the Brain label along with a single on Metronome, both were launched in 1972.
The official formation was Jochen Peters on keyboards/vocals, Frank Feldhusen on guitar/vocals, Manfred Thiers on bass/vocals and Reinhard Schiemann on drums/vocals, although during the recordings of their sole effort they were helped by guitarist, Atze Barth, Dicky Tarrach on congas

Gash has an amazingly cool gatefold cover art typical of the German electric rock scene from the early 70's whom were mainly known for creating progressive art covers such in the way of GASH and above listed Cornucopia albums.

Gash is an extremely interesting album totally worth the price for the third final segment of the trilogy 8:21 "A Young Man's Gash" a total freaked-out acid formation with wild phased vocals and tripped-out acid effects - clearly one of the best moments in ALL of the Krautrock scene. Side one contains pretty standard rock & blues rock tunes that are basic in structure and the album is really all about the sidelong epic, progressive jams on the flipside. The three tracks on side one opening side are not progressive, they are Blues/Psych Rock pieces with some heavier overtones and occasional guitar tricks by Frank Feldhusen, especially in ''In the sea'', propelled by the guitar rhythms and solos, Peters's omnipresent Hammond organ and the British-styled vocals . Fans of the style should enjoy Gash's even though far from original music. As stated above, it's the near 21-minutes epic on side two containing great guitar/organ moves along with some Teutonic-styled experimental touches but overall the sound is mostly dominated by the guitar and keyboards. Its excellence can be found in its atmospheric depth and musical complexity, passing from rockin' tunes to minimalistic edges, from symphonic colors to Heavy/Psych pounds and from a lyrical power to a raw, guitar-driven sound. Lots of changing moods, Kraut-flavored rough rhythms and solos and an symphonic finesse, definitely a beautiful, overlooked/unknown display.

When Gash became part of history, Manfred Thiers went on to play with the Funk Rock band Randy Pie and even joined To Be in early-80's.Peters released a solo album in 1987 under the name of Lu Lafayette and passed away prematurely at the age 50 in 2003.

Recommended, again, the title-track alone is a reason enough to hunt this rarity.
