This is an original 1969 copy of the GREATEST folk LP of all time.
Nick Drake`s MASTERPIECE Debut LP FIVE LEAVES LEFT.
There was a smooth label with bevelled edge and The ROUGH TEXTURED labels with 3 variants this one being Variant 1 and by far and away the rarest and most highly prized Original pressing of them all .
THE SLEEVE.
Its a stunner in exceptionally good order. These album jackets always turn up damaged due to no laminate, so to find one this smart is a seriously tall order. Double click the pictures and zoom in, it has slight edge wear to all edges, wear to some corners slight wear to the left of the artists name then there is a tiny slight smudge about 2 inches below Nicks leg on the front panel. The Drake portrait and the green area is solid and vibrant, lovely. The back panel with that great shot of Drake taking it easy observing the hectic running man is really clean with the very lightest ring ware. This sleeve as you see in the track listing shows Day is Done and Way to blue in the reverse order to the Side 1 label. The spine holds very slight edge ware visible again when you double click the pictures but all the Spinal writings can be read clearly . The original inner sleeve is also present it has ageing stains from the light over the years. The inside of the gate fold sleeve is close to immaculate. No real serious flaws and no unwanted handwriting anywhere on this great item. The sleeve is EXCELLENT MINUS condition.
THE VINYL. This pressing is VARIANT 1 with the heavily textured raised rim labels with the BLOCK ISLAND and Pink EYE logo and is by FAR and AWAY the RAREST pressing of this timeless classic EVER ! The labels to both sides are stain and blemish free and in STUNNING beautiful condition !
The vinyl is where this copy truly comes into its own. When this heavy slab of 1960s wax is tilted into the light it shimmers like black glass, it has the very highest luster sheen normally seen only on a record that is brand new. BEAUTIFUL . There are a few of the very slightest spidery web lines that are on every single LP that has ever been removed from its inner sleeve but nothing worth mentioning that remotely indicates trouble. This is a real corker ! For 32 years I have stored this LP in the mastering sleeve visible in the pictures and its paid off . It plays as great as it looks.  I actually cant fault the playback on this LP it plays as close to mint as is possible. Silent between tracks in the dead wax areas and no skipping or jumping and certainly no background noise or crackle , which is a serious MUST on such a quiet LP that Five Leaves is. It plays BEAUTIFULLY ! Its truly OUTSTANDING. I have owned 6 copies of this LP over the years and this is my last and my best. You will see literally hundreds and hundreds of the smooth and the other two rough variant labels to this Variant 1 Pressing.  This really is the copy you deserve in your collection. Owning this will give you a smug pride that you and your Drake collection deserve. Well worth pushing the boat out a bit further.  If you allow this to slide through your fingers you will be kicking yourself for a very long time.
The vinyl is graded a Very conservative  EXCELLENT + But Plays MINT MINUS .
