ATTENTION!

Please carefully read our entire listing to answer any questions you may have, including shipping rates; then contact us directly with any other information you may need.

WITH MUCH APPRECIATION TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS:  If you have a question on orders received, please contact us.  We take Customer Service seriously, and we want you to be satisfied.   When leaving Feedback, please consider the following:  eBay's policy on the 5-star rating system is anything less than a 5  reduces our standing with eBay and ultimately can affect our selling abilities if we hit 4.6 across the board.  Ridiculous, but true.

Please help us strive for 5 stars through your feedback so we may continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music!  We have served thousands of satisfied customers  - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.

We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays.  Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday.   We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable.  We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order.  Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

TO OUR REPEAT CUSTOMERS:  We are happy to hold orders to save on shipping.  Please pay your current invoice within five days of auctions ending and, if you request, we will hold your order and reflect a shipping discount for each additional order shipped together in the same parcel.

As always, thank you for your support!

LE STELLE DI MARIO SCHIFANO are (nowadays) a little known (one-shot) band in the world of the italian progressive scene. Their name derives from the italian pop artist (painter) Mario Schifano who, during the second half of the sixties was fascinated by multimedia and abstract artistic expressions. In a similar vein to what VELVET UNDERGROUND made at that time with Andy Warhol.

"Dedicato a..." is probably among the most wanted, rare and expensive italian vynil album of any time. It was released in 1967. this means it's the first example of prog in Italy. And that's the inrteresting thing. Despite the official vulgata describes it as the product of a beat band, it is clearly more, very far from a beat work. Probably one of the less commercial outputs in all the italian prog experience. The band itself, after a brief but intense success split up. The album mixes improvvisation, medieval evocations thanks to guitar's arpeggio, acid psychedelia, effects, voices, choruses, quotes, blues and even tv jingles.

A musical anarchic orgy --
Le Stelle di Mario Schifano are officially referred as a beat band of the late sixties. They are rather to be remembered as the very first prog band from italy.
Their strange mix between avantguard and psychedelic sounds makes them, until nowadays, one of the most intriguing examples of all the italian experience.
.

Bass player Crescentini, from Venice, had briefly played before in the last incarnation of New Dada, a very popular garage-beat group.
Housed in an incredible gatefold cover, painted by Schifano himself, the album contains a side-long improvised track on side 1, with the long title of "Le ultime parole di Brandimarte, dall'Orlando Furioso, ospite Peter Hartman e fine (da ascoltare con TV accesa senza volume)", a surreal title just like the track itself. Closer to avantgarde or contemporary music performances than to rock, the stunning track gives a good
idea of what the group's music and live concerts were about. Side 2 is more conventional, with five short tracks with psych influences.

It starts with the guys talking in the studio, then a girl begins what sounds like a Medieval melody, there is chaos until around 6-7 minutes in when a cool psychedelic guitar enters the frame and that's when the band seems to find some kind of path for the next 10 minutes or so.
Side two in contrast has five short and more accesible songs, having said that they don't really sound like anything else around in Italy at that time.
They were obviously not aiming at the 'hits' charts...
People that witnessed their performance at the mythical "Piper Club" in Rome were certainly left with their mouths open.
