Description

What I present here is the UBER MEGA RARE 1968 South African FIRST press of the legendary jazz album of the late South African saxophonist Mankunku, his first LP entitled Yakhal' Inkomo. Easily the rarest LP I've ever listed, probably my favourite jazz album of all-time, one of the most legendary to come out of South Africa and one of the best-selling. Please read here to find out why this LP was a landmark release in South Africa: http://www.music.org.za/artist.asp?id=55.
This is an ORIGINAL FIRST PRESS as confirmed with matrices:
Side 1. ORL 602ASide 2. ORL 6022B

LP pressed on the World Record Co label (ORL 6022), this is an unbelievable copy for its 50-year old age. One of the best copies you can get and a once-in-a-lifetime find.

The sleeve is in EX condition. Light laminate ''bubbling'' top right of the corner; very very light ringwear at the back. Otherwise, a great great sleeve for its age and rarity.

The vinyl is in amazingly, super VG+ condition overall (almost EX).  Actually Side 1 just a very lightly visible hairline but otherwise, would have been EX. Side 2 is EX. Played throughout, sounds really great. The labels are in VG+ condition.

For the serious collector!! Grab this legendary jazz LP that is surely going to be worth more over the years. Offers close to the value of this item will be considered. Questions or requests are welcome.  Please read my T's and C's carefully.

Please note I would strongly suggest to insure this item due to its high value. You may ask me for insurance options. (but beware that I would not be held liable for customs nor partial/full refunds)

All images shown here are of the original item on auction/sale, unless otherwise stated. Descriptions for condition and album information are as brief yet detailed as possible, with additional detail on pictures if need be (for more considerable defects etc). PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: Whilst the utmost care is taken in the packaging of vinyl to ensure a safe journey abroad, I cannot be held responsible for any possible damage to any of the contents of the vinyl that may occur after I have posted the parcel should you decide not to insure. I will also  not be held responsible for possible customs charges from your country that you may incur; nor for any loss. Please ask for insurance details before you order; this only applies to loss or damage.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT POINT: All vinyl gradings are purely based on the visual aspects using standard record collector guide gradings. On occasions for marks that may appear to be a concern on the vinyl, there would be a play-test to discern if the vinyl plays throughout with a brief description of other findings. Please consider that each person has different equipment, system, personal taste etc. which will obviously give widely different sonic experiences and personal opinion.  Therefore, I will not be held accountable for refunds (including partial) if your listening experience or opinion of playing the vinyl is not to your full satisfaction.

This item is located in Durban, South Africa and will be posted to anywhere worldwide using the SA Post Office. Add $3 per additional LP and $2 per additional single or 78.
