Description

An original 1st press of Zep II on the UK Atlantic label from Autumn 1969. Matrix 2/2. Please note labels are consistent with 1st press and still show 'Lemon Song'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original E J Day cover with light-brown colouring. Please note the darker variety would have been printed late '70 and intro '71. 1st issue = light-brown colouring. Also included is the original inner sleeve date coded to November 1969 [119] - which is the very 1st month of release in the UK. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In fantastic and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Zep II on red & plum is just THE best way to hear this LP - it's the benchmark. This copy is, thankfully, is well preserved and delivers a fantastic rendition. Interference is very minor and infrequent. All we could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated spots. And a couple of very low-level ticks in track 1 - blink and you'll miss them so they are definitely low-level. This LP is priced competitively - particularly given how well it plays.
Cover (Vg+) In lovely condition and these original Zep II covers are a difficult find in top-level condition. This example acquits itself admirably having avoided ageing or heavy wear. The front is nice and clean with only low-level handling and that sticker removal mark top-right. The rear is equally good with just some creasing over toward the opening and some ringwear. The interior is in excellent condition - no issues. There's edge wear, but nothing serious. The spine is in above average condition with most text still legible, but do expect a touch of wear in places. Overall the cover still retains very good rigidity and remains an impressive original example.
Inner (Ex-) Light ageing at extremities. No splits or markings.
