All tracks recorded live in Dresden / East Germany, 10th March 1965. One half is jazzy blues, the other half is great modern jazz, L.Wright has some awesome flute-solos.

This is also one of the rare recordings of drummer Hartwig Bartz, who was one of Germany’s best drummers of all time, his partnership with Peter Trunk on bass in the Mangelsdorff-ensemble of the late 50ies is legendary. He was also one of the”house-drummers” of the second half of the 60ies in Munich’s DOMICILE and played with Chet Baker, Don Cherry a.o. . Unfortunately he was drug-addicted, had massive psychic problems and even killed his wife in 1971, wich led to a 20 year long stay in the forensic psychiatry. Check him out on the CD “Fritz Münzer Quintett - Live im HR 1962” ft. M.Schoof and Joe Haider ! In my current auctions I also offer a mint- copy of the rare 1990 LP-issue of “Oscar Pettiford / Jazz Legacy Baden-Baden / Sessions 1958 – 1960”, H.Barzt is ft. here on 4 tracks with D.Goykovic, M.Zetterlund, L.Thompson a.o.

Condition: the record looks and plays as new, mint-. The thin white 60ies AMIGA paper-cover are known to be very sensitive, this one is therefore in outstanding state; it shows just slight shelfwear ( e.g. tiny creasing and a hint of slightest rinwear on the front), all seams/spine are intact with just slightest rub in a few spots ( a little more on the bottom seam) ; overall mint--/ex++.

Zustand: die LP ist optisch & akkustisch in mint- ( tatsächlich eher wie neu). Die dünnen 60er-Jahre-AMIGA-Cover sind ja bekanntlich sehr empfindlich, dieses hier ist außergewöhnlich gut erhalten: nur ganz leichte Lagerspuren ( z.B. leichte Fältelungen und einen Hauch von ringwear auf der Vorderseite), alle Kanten sind intakt mit ganz leichtem Abrieb an einigen wenigen Stellen ( etwas mehr an der unteren Kante ); insgesamt in mint--/ex++

Alle Platten wurden professionell gereinigt, entweder von mir (Hannl Mikro) oder von den Vorbesitzern (Okki Nokki, Loricraft o.Ä.). Anschließend wurden sie nur wenige Male abgespielt bzw. nur einmal von mir zum Bewerten angehört (komplett oder in Ausschnitten). Optische Bewertung erfolgt in Tageslicht, in normalen Kunstlicht & unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe. Platten kommen mit neuer hochwertiger Innenhülle & in einer Schutzhülle. Bitte beachten: auch prof. gereinigte Platten können einige Staubpartikel haben; “eingefangen” während optischer & akkustischer Bewertung, Fotografieren oder den wenigen Abspielungen der Vorbesitzer.

Grading & Cleaning:

• all records have been cleaned on a professional record cleaning machine, either by me (Hannl Mikro) or by the pre-owners (Okki Nokki, Loricraft or the like). After cleaning the records have been played just a few times (or only once by me for playgrading)

• I playgrade each record (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, high-end Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN/ EMT TU-3 SFL (please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment)

• I also visually grade cleaned records in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

• only an unplayed record is mint, my highest grading for a used record is mint- . My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

• cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve

• pl. note: even pro cleaned records may have received some dust particles during visual-/play-grading, photographing or few pre-owner playbacks
