You might know Jay Mitchell for “Goombay Jump”. Well, a few of the tracks on this album are just as good or better
than that funk classic. The sound clip above gives you just a small sample of “Funky Fever”, which goes on for more
than six minutes! And then there’s the Hammond organ groove of “Albatros Circle”. For deep soul fans, Mitchell
gives a pleading performance on “The Soul Of A Man” that would have made James Carr proud.
