You are bidding on an ORIGINAL copy of Lemuria LP issued on Heaven Records. This is Kirk Thompson's Hawaiian soul funk masterpiece. I've never come across a cleaner copy! Comes with original lyric sheet.

In the tropical climes, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, arranger, and producer Kirk Thompson put together Lemuria from some of the best musicians in the area and came up with a stylistic blend of funk, Latin grooves, Stevie Wonder-esque sexiness, and the studio feel of the Fantasy studios that artists like Sylvester used. Roy Ayers would have been jealous as hell if he knew this record existed back in the day. The tracks here are all uplifting and spiritual, sweet and yet deep in a popping groove that would make any party or dancefloor jump. With a trio of female vocalists called the Ladies of Lemuria, the 11 tracks included here are so infectious, so regal, and so dreamy they deserve a place in the collection of every fan of late-'70s urban soul. The polish that Thompson puts behind his songs serves to make them deeper, more meaningful. Standout tracks are "Dreams," "All I've Got to Give," with its glorious vocal and jazzed-out guitar solo, and "Moonlight Affair," with the steamy tropic moonlight drenching the vocal and slippery groove of the rhythm section. RECORD GRADING:

Near Mint: This is the top grade and is in pristine condition with excellent gloss and no marks. May look unplayed. A NM cover will show no signs of wear.

A NM- is slightly below the NM grade with only one imperfection but generally flawless.

VG++: Record may have sleeve marks from being pulled in and out of a cover. Typically these marks will only be viewable under a bright light bulb. Generally will play through like a NM- with little to no surface noise. Cover may have storage wear, tiny age spots, or creasing, nothing distracting or major.

VG+: Visible scuffing or surface wear may be present, but not deep enough to affect play. VG+ records may have slight surface noice, but only noticeable in quiet passages of music (or at beginning of record or between tracks.) This slight surface noise should not overwhelm the music experience otherwise. Covers in this grade may have ringwear, edgewear, creases, or general shelf wear. Splits or writing on cover or label will be noted.

VG: Vinyl will display many hairline scuffs or scratches, but will play with a tolerable amount of noise. A great play copy but clearly used. Cover may have splits and heavy wear, writting or stains, and possible tears or creases
