LEE VOORHIES STARDUST LOAD UP MY BLUES RARE ROCKABILLY

On Stardust Records 671, this Ultra Rare Rockabilly original is the first record made by Lee Voorhies (who later recorded under the name of Lee Finn) and his Ozark Country Boys. The songs are "Load Up My Blues" and "Hand In Hand". Also on the label is Starrite-BMI and matrix numbers of 45-671-A (& B) 166C. The vinyl looks M-. Both sides play VG+/VG++ with some background noise; they play well overall.

Lee was born Dwain Lee Voorhies in Greentop, Missouri on 19 April 1926. Raised on a farm near Lancaster, he enlisted with the Navy during the Second World War and following his discharge, relocated to Kansas City, where he found work as a truck driver. Encouraged by others, he made this record, and soon after followed up with a record on the Westport Label under the name of Lee Finn, "High Class Feeling" and "Pour Me A Glass Of Wine". He made a third release on the Rose Label, Lonesome Road and Just Wastin' My Time, then faded into oblivion.

Grading

MINT * Perfect record, clean gloss, no marks. A mint record is uncommon.

MINT- * Very clean only a few light marks; plays very well.

VG++ * Surface marks, no scratches, should play and look very good with faint, if any, audible surface noise.

VG+ * The record shows signs of use, but plays well despite quite visible surface marks and possibly some light scratches. This grading is often used for records which have not been cared for perfectly but still play well overall. A few very faint clicks may be allowed, and will be included in the description.

VG * Still a nice record, looks used, light scratches, no gouges, still plays fairly well. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music.

VG- * Record shows wear, marks, scratches, surface noise.
