Description
Blue Weaver’s Original RIAA Award for ‘Here at Last’
This is a genuine RIAA American music industry Platinum Award for 1,000,000 sales of the album, ‘Here at Last’. It was presented in the mid 1970s to legendary keyboard player, Blue Weaver, who also co-wrote a number of Bee Gees songs. Prior to joining the Bee Gees in 1975, Blue was a member of Amen Corner, Fairweather and The Strawbs. And after leaving the Bee Gees in 1981, he became a renowned session musician, playing for everyone from Chicago to the Pet Shop Boys.
The award measures 17x21 inches (44x54cms) and is in good condition with just a few small black marks on the frame where the paint has worn away. The plaque mounted below the record includes the RIAA logo and the following text:

RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) awards are the American equivalent of British BPI awards, and are only presented to artists, producers, record companies and others in the music industry that contributed to the success of a record. This is an official music industry award and should not be confused with any kind of replica or ‘limited edition’ discs that are sold direct to the public.
This award spent over 20 years hidden away in Blue’s shed, before he donated it to a charity auction, so this is a very rare opportunity to acquire an original artist-owned award.

Payment can be made by cheque/bankers draft in UK Pounds. Paypal is also accepted, however, if you have an unconfirmed address, then you will need to contact me before placing your bid. Cash can be accepted, but only if the item is personally collected.
