EXTREMELY RARE AND HIGH IN DEMAND UK 70s PROGRESSIVE SPACE ROCK MONSTER!!

EXCEPTIONALLY HARD TO COME BY OF LATE....EVEN MORE SO COMPLETE WITH LARGE POSTER!!

Highly collectable original 1971 UK 1st pressing LP from this legendary late 60s early 70s UK psych / prog underground band. Very rare psych / prog album. Lovely UK original of this truly amazing album. Gatefold sleeve. This is a superb original lp record that deserves to be in any serious 70's prog / psych rock collection.

The "God Of Hell Fire" returns with a terrifying foreboding album full of dark progressive moods and psychedelic auras. With Arthur Brown on vocals, Andy Dalby on guitars, Michael "Goodge" Harris on organ, Julian Paul Brown on VCS-3 synthesizer, Desmon Fisher on bass, and Martin "Slim" Steer on drums these guys were able to create an incredible album that simple "lives". In case anyone listens to this album for the first time I warn you that you may suffer severe brain damage! I guess you could place it somewhere in the company of a cross of good ol' VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR with maybe hints of ATOMIC ROOSTER, PINK FLOYD and touches of VANILLA FUDGE. Arthur Brown was known as an artist that did the unexpected and on this album there is a track "Metal Monster" which was recorded for a portion backwards and sounds like it is skipping... this is in fact intentional and not a manufactures defect!! The end result is a quirky monster prog album with some amazing warm tones and wild stuff abounding. A necessary album to own in your 70's prog / psych rock collection. But again I warn you it may blow your mind!

CONDITION

Vinyl: EX

(The surfaces on this 1971 UK first pressing still retain their full gloss and sheen showing only a few very faint wispy hairlines and light surface marks seen under a strong light. The record delivers excellent audio throughout with great powerful sound clarity. Plays superbly with only very occasional minor static. A strong excellent condition 1st pressing of this truly mindblowing prog rock LP)

Labels: EX

(Both labels have partially faded running time annotated in tiny neat pen.....otherwise very clean)

Gatefold Sleeve: EX+

(The original 'E.J.DAY' unlaminated matt gatefold sleeve has been very well preserved since the day it was bought 40 years ago! There is a very faint light sticker residue stain near top right corner and a few very small wrinkles near the corners and edges, nothing too serious. The thick spine is arrow straight and perfectly legible with very clear bold print. The inside of the gatefold is beautifully clean and unmarked. Overall the sleeve is in beautiful EXCELLENT PLUS condition, colour and structure are very nice indeed, one of the best examples of this sleeve you will ever see on account of its fragile unlaminated mainly white matt finish)

Poster: Mint-

(Double sided large poster has no rips, no tears, no pin holes. Comes still folded housed inside album sleeve as originally came. A beautiful original copy of this highly sought after poster!)

Polydor 'Headhunters' Poly-lined Inner Sleeve: EX

(One side has some writing which has been partially tipp-exd out)

1971 UK original 1st pressing, complete with fabulous poster, of extremely hard to find album by great UK early 70s psych/prog band Kingdom Come featuring the legendary Arthur Brown!!

On offer here, from my own collection, is an excellent condition original UK 1st pressing, complete with poster, of Kingdom Come's very rare 1st album "Galactic Zoo Dossier", issued on the UK 1st press Polydor Records label in 1971.

Before Marilyn Manson, before Alice Cooper, there was THE CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN, an R&B act whose hit song "Fire" set both the UK and US charts alight back in 1968. Considered one of the prime movers behind the British progressive underground scene, Brown's flamboyant stage act - flaming helmet, outlandish costumes, bizarre facial make-up and crazy, incendiary vocals - appropriately suited the band's manic, psychedelic sound. When they broke up in early 1969, Brown pursued some obscure and less exciting venues and slowly abandoned his R&B roots. He then resurfaced in 1971 and was back to his theatrical excesses (including his own on-stage crucifixion) with a new band called ARTHUR BROWN'S KINGDOM COME; this one a rocker, more adventurous and decidedly more progressive outfit. Through the course of three albums, the band saw a string of musicians incessantly going through the revolving doors of Brown's ministry. Not having much commercial success, however, they split up in 1973. Brown went on to cut a few solo albums and then disappeared somewhere in Texas to become a carpenter!

All three ARTHUR BROWN'S KINGDOM COME albums are a kind of collision between psychedelia and new wave, bearing a space-rock and typical ZAPPA-esque tomfoolery. They feature Brown's incredible vocals (that can range from Tom Jones' croonery to sheer maniacal screams). Somewhat like a bridge between the psychedelic and early progressive eras, their first album "Galactic Zoo Dossier" impresses with its aggressive guitar play and wild, killer organ.

The word 'crazy' may well have been dropped from the band name, but the music still contained that vital ingredient. After his one and only LP with THE CRAZY WORLD OF..., this next venture followed suit, with a doomy hammond orientated sound. Here, the musicianship for what is technically a debut release, is simply outstanding. Compositions are weird, hilarious and superb, in the same vein as FRANK ZAPPA or GONG maybe, fused with ATOMIC ROOSTER. All tracks, link into one another to create one continuous piece of music. Sometimes even after repeated listening, it's hard to tell when they begin and end. So many different styles grace this LP. Laid back tracks like Space Plucks and Trouble, appear alongside brain-splitting, disjointed rockers like Metal Monster and Creep.

Its one of those LP's that from the moment you first hear it, you are instantly hooked and entertained and it just gets better and better with every play! A totally mindblowing album that shouldn't be overlooked......Outstanding and essential stuff indeed!

If you delight in both failed genius and early 70's hippy zaniness, then do give this band a listen. You'll probably find plenty of words to describe their music, but 'boring' isn't be one of them!!

This original vinyl LP seldom comes up for sale and even less so in this condition and with the elusive POSTER insert!! Dont miss your chance!!
