KENNY DORHAM “Afro-Cuban” RVG, P, DG, Blue Note 1535 Vinyl

This is the first pressing, 1957, "RVG” etched, Deep Groove, Flat Rim, P-pressing of KENNY DORHAM’s “Afro-Cuban” on the “Lexington Ave” labels of Blue Note BLP 1535. Musicians include Kenny Dorham – trumpet, J. J. Johnson – trombone (tracks 1-4 and 9), Hank Mobley – tenor saxophone, Cecil Payne – baritone saxophone, Horace Silver – piano, Percy Heath (tracks 5-8), Oscar Pettiford (tracks 1-4 and 9) – bass, Art Blakey – drums, Carlos "Patato" Valdes – conga (tracks 1-4 and 9), Richie Goldberg – cowbell (tracks 1-4 and 9).

FLAT RIM VINYL plays with medium to loud level surface noise (i.e, static, crackle, ??,????,relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks, some repeating. No Skips. No locked grooves. No distortion. Fading gloss. Many hairline marks, handful feelable. (If you can't feel it you won't hear it).  The Deep Groove "Lexington Ave" labels show wear, spindle marks. MONO COVER is in Good shape, corners and spine and seams very worn. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 767 Lexington Avenue, New York 21” back jacket shows wear, handwriting. Please see photos.
