Description

Original deep-groove pressing of Johnny Griffin The Congregation on the West 63rd (no INC, no R) labels of Blue Note BLP 1580. The playing surface is immaculate, with a high luster; perhaps played once. The dead wax has the stamped "RVG" and "P". The record is in the original inner sleeve. The laminated cover has the West 63rd St. address, sharp corners and perfect seams, and is bright and clean throughout; light foxing on the back slick. Cover art is by Andy Warhol. Personnel includes Sonny Clark, Paul Chambers, and Kenny Dennis.
