LP : Hippopotamus - Schnatterzapfen

Rare German orginal pressing from 1982 on the tiny KOPF label, wich also released some of MOONDOG's 80ies LPs. Hard to find kraut jazzrock LP that seldom shows up in auctions (but you can find it offered in lists starting from 50 Euro onwards).
Dope kraut-fusion with heavy Fender Rhodes, twin saxophone line-up, great latin-fusion on Bossa Bokassa, unfortunately no clips on youtube.

Line-up: Thomas Dörr/Alto-Saxophone - Willi Jansen/Tenor-Saxophon - Wolfgang Kulawik/Gitarre - Bernd Wilhelmi/Fender Rhodes & Piano - Lothar Vahling/Bass - Norbert Gerhards/Drums

Tracks: side 1: Made In Italy - Midnight In Ruhrort - Lovely R., You Did - Bossa Bokassa

                 side 2: Turkey Neck Rag - Susann's Song – Ballade - Schnatterzapfen

Condition: the records looks excellent with just a few superficial lines: side 1 looks ex ( one tiny superficial scuff ), side 2 looks mint--/ex++. Both sides play in mint- all of the time. The cover shows just slightest shelfwear, all seams/spine are intact without rub, front & back are fine with just a hint of slightest shelfwear, on the upper right front there are minimal residues/wear from a removed price-sticker; overall ex--/vg++.

Zustand: die Platte sieht insgesamt sehr gut aus mit nur leichten oberflächlichen Spuren: Seite 1 ist optisch in ex ( ein kleiner oberflächlicher Wischer ) , Seite 2 ist optisch in mint--/ex++. Beide Seiten spielen durchgehend in mint-. Das Cover hat nur ganz leichte Lagerspuren, alle Kanten sind intakt und ohne Abrieb, Vorder- & Rückseite sind sehr gut erhalten, auf der Vorderseite sind rechts oben kleine Reste bzw. Abschabungen auf Grund eines entfernten Preisaufklebers vorhanden ; insgesamt in ex--/vg+. alle Platten habe ich professionell gereinigt und angehört (meist ganz, manchmal in Ausschnitten). Kommen mit neuer Außen- & Innenhülle !

Grading & Cleaning:

  • the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

  • after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

  • I also visually graded the record in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

  • only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

  • cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve
