Description
ERNEST RANGLIN TRIO - WRANGLIN' LP (ILP909)
The ska legend's first love was always jazz, and he recorded this jazz LP, a mix of covers and original compositions, for Island in the mid 1960s.
The trio consists of Ernest Ranglin on guitar, Alan Ganley on drums and Malcom Cecil on bass.
Tracks:
- Linstead Market
- Angelina
- Tonight
- Wranglin'
- Reflections
- Just In Time
The sleeve is in fantastic condition, particularly given its age. The lacquer on the front is fully intact. There are a few very minor creases to the front. The fold overs on the back are fully intact, and the back is clean, apart from where the original owner wrote his name in Biro in the middle. The label of the record is pristine with no marks around the hole where it was placed on the turntable. It is a beautiful rough paper Island red, white and black label. Email me if you want additional scans. (The front cover hasn't come out brilliantly, because I have to scan two halves to fit the whole sleeve on, and the shadows don't match.
I'm selling it because I'm a big fan of reggae/ ska, and I couldn't resist buying this when I saw it. However, I'm trying to 'rationalise' my record collection, and I don't really listen to this as I'm not a big jazz fan.
Sleeve is in a protective plastic outer.
