Description

Blue Note BLP 4019 with 47 west 63rd NMC address on both labels and the bottom of the back cover. Deep groove on both sides. Record has "ear" and"RVG" inscribed in the dead wax, mono. Donald Byrd, trumpet; Charlie Rouse, tenor sax; Pepper Adams, baritone sax; Walter Davis Jr., piano; Sam Jones, bass; Art Taylor, drums. 6 tracks. Original issue. Cover: VG(-) to VG Scotch tape on 3 eniter edges. This appears to be applied for protection rather than repair. On the back cover there is a tear that cuts into the title of 1 tune( "Devil Whip") and also partially effect 4 sentences in the notes. Former owner's name is stamped twice and written once in the margin of the back cover. 3 tunes have a transparent colored marker over the titles (see scan of the back cover) There also appears to be a word stamped on the top scotch tape on the back cover. In spite of all these alterations, the front cover is in fine condition with slight peeling of the lamination on part of the insert edge. Record: Mint Visually shows no wear. No markings on the record surface. Possibly played only a few times. In spite of the condition of the back cover, the record plays like new with no surface noise. It is in fine condition. Audibly checked.
